Disproves my theory about them having a warehouse of discs they need to get rid of so they come up with a new package.

Use Media Player Classic (MPC-HC).
I keep my K-Lite Codec pack up to date, never had any issues.

Re: 1.16.1 complains about AACS, whereas 1.15.4 didn't
Looks like the log itself answers your question. "This disc uses newer version of AACS protection. Please let us know about it by visiting http://www.makemkv.com/a/?jYWMcYciDH3G+f..." AND "Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your dri...

How does an actual set top player with 8 year old firmware cope with new discs?

Still could be a codec issue or graphics driver issue. Can your PC handle the load?

Re: Star Wars and MCU questions
So small... When you come over to the dark side, you'll be looking at multi-drive network attached storage in the 80+ terabyte range, AFTER you've used handbrake to shrink the contents by 30-90%... I out-grew 32TB a couple of years ago. As a critical movie buff, how do you get a reduced file size w...

Re: ...The "Insert a Disc" error...
So: 1) Cleaned disk. No smudges, no smears, no specks, no oily sheen, no scratches. 2) Put disk in drive. 3) Comptuer says: "What disk?": 4) Removed drive from computer. 5) Attached drive to a Mac (Disk still inside). 6) Read full contents, no issues. It's not the disk. I'm beginning to t...

Re: Uncut Gems
I used RedFox and it selects 798. I know Pete over there does some actual processing of the disc code when choosing the right playlist and then the OPD selects it for you. Again, sorry, but working on 4K is great, but can we get a proper working Lionsgate fix? These guys do the same on 4K as well. H...

Re: Uncut Gems
The program automatically chooses 893 for U.S. retail. But no replies point to this so I have my doubts. So do I trust this? 798 (above) appears to have same segment map, so are they identical? Segment map: 517,513,518,514,505,519,502,504,520,511,501,516,512,506,508,509,503,510,515,507 File name: Un...

Re: Somehow ripped 38gb off a regular DVD?
Or it's a Lionsgate disk, with multiple fake titles. Most likely. I love MakeMKV but if I need to rip a DVD from Lionsgate I usually have to use a different product as, if it's not a bunch of fake titles, it's a title that purposely points to an invalid region of the disc, which causes read errors....

Tenet is a Warner Bros title, correct? WB has not adopted anything that LionsGate or Sony has, so they are a company I respect. I buy anything I plan on keeping, but I still have an opinion to give about companies!
