List of packages which makemkv depends on
Okay. When I upgraded to 1.5.8, makemkv stopped being able to properly read discs for me ( http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1701 ). After downgrading to 1.5.0, it still can't properly read discs. So, my guess is that something else which got upgraded since makemkv was previously...

Re: Fails to read files after upgrade to 1.5.8
Something else must have changed on my system when I upgraded, because I get exactly the same behavior if I downgrade to 1.5.0 (since that's the newest version that I currently have access to other than 1.5.8 ). Something else on my system obviously isn't interacting properly with makemkv. Now the q...

Re: Fails to read files after upgrade to 1.5.8
That would mean having to make a backup with makemkv, then use DVDFab on the backup, and then use makemkv on the results of that because makemkv does not support selecting the chapters of a title you wish to rip. You always rip all chapters with makemkv, which does not work at all for me. I have too...

Fails to read files after upgrade to 1.5.8
I upgraded to 1.5.8 from 1.5.6, and now makemkv is failing to read DVD files that it could read just fine before. I have files that I ripped to disk with DVDFab (so .BUP and .IFO files and the like) and am trying to then turn them into mkv files with makemkv. Makemkv did fine with them before, but n...

Re: Requires root to run?
Problem solved. It turns out that for some reason, on my system, only root has write permissions for /dev/shm. If I make it world writable, then makemkv will start normally. Chromium has a similar problem where it can't render any web pages if I don't make /dev/shm world writable. I don't know why /...

Re: Requires root to run?
The first command gives me
I attached the log for the second command.
Code: Select all
$ makemkv debug /dev/stdout

Requires root to run? [SOLVED]
Okay, I ran makeMKV on OpenSuSE as my normal user just fine. However, I recently switched to Arch Linux, and while I can run makeMKV as root or with sudo, it fails as my normal user. When I run it as my normal user, I get a dialog that pops up and says "Application failed to initialize," w...

Re: List of DVD/BluRay that haven't worked
Neither disc of the Blu-ray release of Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino ( http://www.amazon.com/Gunslinger-Girl-Teatrino-Season-Blu-ray/dp/B0030ZOYJU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1268206549&sr=1-3 ) rips properly. Tracks that include stuff like the menus or the extras rip fine, but the episod...

Re: Feature Request - File Split by Chapter
I second this. The one feature that MakeMKV is lacking which makes it so that I have to use DVDFab to rip tracks from the DVD/BD before using MakeMKV is the fact that it always rips the whole title. I have quite a few discs from TV shows where all of the episodes are in one track, and I'm looking to...
