Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision

NP! May I ask what your set up is cause I find DV to be slightly better than HDR10 on my 2017 LG. Still waiting to see what HDR10+ looks like. Supposed to be equivalent to DV. I'll believe it when I see it. My current setup is an LG OLED65B7A being fed video direct from an Oppo 203. Audio is routed...

Re: Pacific Rim

One has embedded English forced subtitles, title cards and credits. The other probably has them embedded as a different language. Try playing one and see what happens at those particular spots.

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision

Not much of a guide but simple enough: 1. Insert disc and File > Backup > choose to decrypt video 2. Run BDMV Modifier on the ROOT folder (Works in Wine if u need it to - it will be attached to this post) 3. Done Not sure if it will work with Emby but I just use a USB 3.0 drive hooked into my 203. ...

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision

So far I only tried Transformers (using full backup option in MakeMKV then using BDMV Modifier) and it played back with full menus and DV on my Oppo 203. As stated before there are no software players other then maybe PowerDVD that can handle dual layer DV. Only single layer. Won't work in MKV eith...

Re: Any luck with Dolby Vision titles?

Well 4k isn't all what people think. A lot are mastered at 2k. There isn't really a wow factor here. Yes Atomic Blonde looks really good. The 203 can handle a 6TB HDD easy thru the 203 USB 3.0 port. I can pull up any full movie in seconds. UHD really doesn't have all that much extra BR bs on the di...

Re: Any luck with Dolby Vision titles?

So will the 203 play Atmos and DTSX from MKV? It should, to the best of my knowledge. I don't currently have an atmos/dtsx capable receiver to test this with, but I haven't heard anyone say they won't. If you've never been over to AVS Forum before, I'd go to this thread http://www.avsforum.com/foru...

Re: Any luck with Dolby Vision titles?

This may be a little off topic but I am new to Makemkv and UHD. I have a Oppo 105D I use for 1080P playback files. I bought a Sony ubp-x800 to play the UHD discs and files and it won't decode the DTSX Atmos audio from a MKV file. I have 2 options return the Sony and get a Oppo 203 or the cheaper op...

Re: Any luck with Dolby Vision titles?

Did you try to search? http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16726 I didn't see any topics/info on the UHD designated board about Dolby Vision (a pretty much UHD specific features) so it didn't really cross my mind to go looking elsewhere for it. Honest mistake on my part, but thank...

Any luck with Dolby Vision titles?

With latest Updates I've been able to rip quite a few of my UHD's, a number of which are Dolby Vision titles. I'm just ripping out the main Audio/Video/Subtitle tracks to an MKV file and so far everything is working great on playback except for Dolby Vision. When I try to play a Dolby Vision title o...

Re: Optical Drive not being found

I'm using unRAID 6.3.5 and and makemkv via the docker by jlesage https://hub.docker.com/r/jlesage/makemkv/ and I'm having the same issues. I'd go back a version but the whole point is to get the new UHD hash key capability that's unavailable in the previous build.

Anyone found any workarounds yet?

Re: Is one HDR? Identical Playlists

My guess is that the video contains burned in subtitles at some point. Plays one video when it needs English translation/credits and the other when it needs Spanish. HDR is basically just Metadata that shouldn't really be adding all that much to the file size, let alone need a whole separate stream....

AV Sync/ Hash Errors on Lionsgate Films.

Anyone else noticing a lot of this when attempting to rip UHD's from Lionsgate? So far (on the latest makemkv version) I've managed to rip 6 films cleanly, another 2 completed with AV/sync issues, and 3 that had hash errors and/or failed outright. Oddly enough every single fail was a lionsgate. I'm ...

Re: 1080p vs 2160P

I've got an LG 65B7a. 2160p is good, but does not a represent the same quality jump you get from going 480i to 1080p. From a straight resolution standpoint at normal seating distance, I doubt very few people could tell the difference between a native 4k set and a good 1080p set playing the same movi...

Re: UHD support

Right, get the keydb.cfg file from the web. The one I found was old and didn't have the UHD entries I needed. I found that on a separate post and appended it to the bottom of the file, and then it all started working. :) Be sure to restart makemkv after any edits. Hopefully in the future, an error ...
