Re: Concerned about the quality of a DVD rip
There are a lot of variables. It could be the decoder, the video renderer, or the settings on your video card.

Re: Rips fine, but doesn't play
I wrote something that I later realized wasn't going to help - there's no way to delete posts, so I just replaced it with "EDIT".

Re: Many AV sync issues with FLAC conversion
I'm not sure if it matters for LPCM, but you can check if a disc is seamless branching when you open it with MakeMKV: Click on a title, and look at the title information on the right hand side of the window - on the line, "Segment map", you'll see a long string of numbers if the disc is se...

Re: Many AV sync issues with FLAC conversion
Is this from a TrueHD track, and a seamless branching disc?

Re: Add option to compress bluray PGS subtitles
Open the file with mmg (MKVmergeGUI, a part of mkvtoolnix), and click "Start muxing". The resulting file should play fine on the WD Live.

Re: * To Clarify *
Thus, IMHO you gain nothing by it's conversion, especially if you already have the DVD on your HD. Personally, I much prefer having my movies in a single file that I only have to click to play. You are still going to have a 3GB movie when you are done, MKV or not. Very little savings in space. That...

Re: slow makeMKV to Handbrake from Blu Ray
I don't know the capabilities of VLC on a Mac, but I'd figure out why the file MakeMKV creates won't play - unless you need to save space.

Re: English subtitles always appear when I play my MPV
There was a discussion about this before in another forum, when a developer was creating a new Matroska splitter. Most people seemed to agree that the Matroska specs called for default subs to be shown automatically, and forced subs to be forced (meaning, they cannot be turned off). For default flag...

MakeMKV does create chapters - apparently your player just doesn't recognize them.

Re: In Time Bluray won't rip
Last I checked, the latest official version of AnyDVD didn't work with this movie, but the beta version did.

Re: Need help with audio track on Star Wars blu-ray movies
The DTS-MA and DTS tracks are the ones you want.
Since you have to use ac3, I would select the DTS-MA, and convert it to ac3 with eac3to. That will give you an ac3 track with the highest quality possible.

Re: LPCM and MKV
If Reclock is using WASAPI mode, it shouldn't matter what you have Windows set to - you could set it to mono, and Reclock will send 5.1 for 5.1, 7.1 for 7.1, etc.
If you need help setting up Reclock, read this: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=152520

Re: Request: Change order of audio and subtitle streams
MKVmerge's Header Editor should do everything you guys are asking for, without remuxing. For a few files, it will take just a minute or two (it takes just a few seconds for each file) - for a lot of files, there is no batch mode so that could take a while.
