Re: MakeMKV thinks AnyDVD is running

Lots, read through the forums... having anydvd running, or ripping first with anydvd has been known to corrupt streams.

MakeMKV does not need anydvd or dvdfab to decrypt... so just leave them disabled and rip with makemkv.

Re: Unwanted Subtitles

They are soft subs, you can turn them off in your playback software. Also you can uncheck them when your ripping with makemkv if you do not want any subs.

Re: Problem with MakeMKV Rip

makemkv rips correctly, however only a few players can understand 7.1 LPCM in MKV. VLC is unfortunately not one of those. Solution: demux pcm track with mkvtoolnix or eac3to and encode to FLAC. remux to mkv. ffmpeg (backbone of vlc, mplayer and everything else) does not support interlaced VC-1 yet. ...

Hi, makemkv does not need root access (unless you just meant to install). You are either not part of some group, or you do not have access to some temp folder.

PS: AACS keys are not required by makemkv.

Hi, you will find that no one here will help you copy movies you do not own.

Unless of course your just trying to stream the disk (i see your on linux). Please confirm, turn on debugging, submit log and wait for a response from mike admin (maybe send him a PM).

Minor correction, but one that i believe is important: MPC-HC and ffdshow are not "freeware" they are free open source software.

Re: Specific ways to optimize a computer for HD playback?

1.) get your self a recent nvidia graphics card that supports full H.264, VC-1 and MPEG-2 hardware decoding and HDMI sound output.

Thats pretty much it, you can playback full bluray files on a intel ATOM with a good hardware decoding card!

Mike usually does not say... but probably in the near future *weeks*
cbrad wrote:Is there a stable nightly build that I could try?
This is an oxymoron, and no. The beta builds that are released to us are as essentially the only 'stable nightly'.

http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en/Download open the file, view->text->paste output here Its likely just a issue with powerdirector... If you have the vobs you can just cat them together (cat file1.vob+file2.vob+filen.vob merged_file.vob) and skip makemkv and powerdirector. Alternatively you can us...

Re: Feature Request: Subtitles are optional?

Hi,
First... its your players problem that it will not turn off subtitles. Subtitles are optional, they can be turned off by default.
Second, you can completely disable subtitles by expanding the track, and scroll to a subtitle and rick click and *uncheck all*
