Re: Difficulty with SICARIO backup

The developer of makemkv has announced that a fix is on it's way in the next revision update for playlist obfuscation.

I'm afraid I don't have any experience of playing titles from a full backup. I create separate MKVs. Someone else will be able to answer your question better.

Re: Broken audio on Blu-Rays with AACS v57.

What media player are you using to play these files?

Which audio codec did you select?

Any movies which I rip that use Dolby TrueHD 7.1 do what you describe when played through my standard default installation of VLC (ie no additional codecs installed). Dolby TrueHD 5.1 anecdotally play fine.

Re: Forced Subtitles

Matt, are the subtitles flagged as forced within the track? Or is the track that contains "just" what would be considered forced subtitles marked as "default"? There is a difference. If they actually have forced flags set, the track MakeMKV creates for "Forced only" sh...

Re: Forced Subtitles

I've found it depends on how the disc was structured. Sometimes forced subs is flagged as default. sometimes not.

'The Da Vinci Code' (UK Blu-ray) for example has forced subs and they are flagged as default out of 6 possible selectable subtitles.

Re: John Wick Blu-Ray...hundreds of files

Welcome to Blu-ray playlist obfuscation. Many of us have had to deal with this problem for months now but apparently a fix is on the way in the next makemkv update. In the meantime, do a search on the forum. There should be a thread knocking about for this movie with others offering the correct play...

Re: X-Files Blu-Ray Season 3 - Twin episodes on each disc?

They're all correct. For some reason some seasons of some shows have duplicate episodes, some with the western language/subtitle options and another with the Japanese subtitle options. Not sure why that is. You probably want the ones that don't have the Japanese subs -- probably the first batch, no...

Re: ripping uhd 4k the martian

No I do not. I live in a college dorm, so i don't happen to own a TV, period. I have successfully ripped the 1080p version for my use right now, but i would love to get the 4k version out of there. I can't help thinking how amazing it will look. wonder if i'll notice a difference on my iPhone6... n...

Re: ripping uhd 4k the martian

Anecdotally, do you have a standalone UHD player which is connected to a standard 1080p tv. How does it look? (assuming it works at all)

Re: ripping uhd 4k the martian

Interesting

So 4k UHD drives, is that a thing or not?

I was expecting having to shell out for a new drive to read these discs like I did going from dvd to Blu-ray.
