Re: Advice/Assistance on Automating MakeMkv
Do not use the largest file. By that you will get randomly non-english movies f.e. for Disney Movies as they add the synchronisation credits at the end of the movie. Another problems are different movie logos / titles at the beginning. It would be totally random getting the wanted movie version. I t...

Re: Subtitle and audio track naming
Ah ok. I bought four drives and connected them through two dual port eSATAp slot cards . By that I'm having directly the final MKV and its fast. Everytime I'm done I put the drives back in the drawer. This was the cheapiest solution I could find (instead of buying an Addonics Storage Tower). EDIT: N...

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past
Ok, I finally found it. As I said before I used HxD to compare the binary data of the AVS files that I exported from the two MKV files through gMKVExtractGUI. Then I leave the cursor at this position, scrolled down to the end of the file, hold down shift and clicked the last hex character to mark ev...

[Feature Request] Subtitle preview
To make the naming easier (to avoid opening the movie with an additional player) it would be nice if MakeMKV could display the subtitles itself. This means I click on a subtitle track and have an option to display the first 10 (?) subtitle images of this track (this avoids loading the complete file ...

Re: Subtitle and audio track naming
@Chetwood Does this require Java? I have the AACS keys installed, but playing a m2ts file directly does not work (loads and loads and then stops without error). I have DVDFab Player 5 as well, but it loads the blu-ray as usual. So i have to view the intros, menus, etc before beeing able to load the ...

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past
I encoded both 00800 and 00801 and they appear to have identical English audio and scene order. The only difference seems to be that 800 has many more foreign language subtitles than 801. I can not see differences regarding the subtitles. Both seem to have the same languages?! I check possible othe...

Re: Subtitle and audio track naming
This won't be easy as you can determine the subs only after your created the mkv and as there are many variants to create the mkv (some people select only one language, others multiple, the next one selects only the DTS core, others all audio tracks, etc.), there is no hash available like the one of...

[Feature Request] Subtitle naming database "MakeMKV CDDB"
Many MakeMKV users are doing the same steps. They create the MKV through MakeMKV and then open it through MKVToolNix/VLC to determine/name the subtitles. This can cost really much time. Why not shorten the process: 1.) if we create the file(s) and some or all of the subtitles have been named, MakeMK...
Re: UHD FAQ
Thanks. This explains why Planet Earth II was readable ^^
But someone should update the FAQ.

Re: UHD FAQ
I'm a little bit confused. In this thread the key files are named as "both KEYDB.cfg and hashed keys are text files" or "KEYDB.cfg or as hashed key". But after I downloaded the file its name is "keys_hashed.txt". Do I need to rename it to "hashed keys" without...

[Feature Request] auto-naming of forced subtitles
Depening on the amount of subtitle tracks it is a time consuming step to name all forced subtitles.
Because of that I really like to have auto-naming as a built-in feature.

Re: Subtitle and audio track naming
Yes, you have only 6 speakers, but think about how the 6 or 8 channel tracks are produced. They use the x channel original cinema audio track and downmix it. I'm sure the back surrounds channels are mixed with the rear surrounds. But of course, using the core only, you loose only some soft backgroun...

How to unselect the Core of DTS-HD HRA?
This is my rule: -sel:all,+sel:(ger|eng|tur|nolang),-sel:(havelossless|havemulti),-sel:mvcvideo,=100:all,-10:ger,+sel:attachment And this is the result: 2019-06-16 22_09_27.jpg "havelossless" seems not to work as "HRA" isn't "lossless" and "havemulti" does not...
