There is that one message from mike himself: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1514 Even the most current version of Leawo BluRay Ripper uses MakeMKV, hidden in the file jasmine.bin: https://i.imgur.com/rV4vGVu.jpg (https://i.imgur.com/rV4vGVu.jpg if picture isn't shown) Though...

Re: how does one get missing keys for KEYDB.CFG?
How up to date is your keydb.cfg? Looking at the files from http://fvonline-db.bplaced.net/ it seems, there are several entries for Avatar 2 3D. Even four different ones for "AVATAR_THE_WAY_OF_WATER_BONUS". If they don't help, you probably would need the help of the https://forum.doom9.org...

Still take a look into the BluRay case. UHDs more often come with a standard bluray as well. Maybe the UHD is hidden in the "roof" behind some advertisements put into the case.

Re: "Hidden" MPLS files?
MPLS are playlist files, so there is mostly written inside any order of m2ts files which should be played.
Try opening the index.bmdv file with MkvToolnix and there select the 00365.mpls.
Eventually it is just a single frame video or alike, and MakeMKV skips those, but that's just an assumption.

Re: MakeMKV reporting incorrect video parameters
According to the standards written at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD-Video a commercial DVD cannot have a resolution of 853x480, so I would assume that this is the display or storage aspect ratio. Also according to Wiki the movie you mentioned either has runtime of 106 or 120 (directors cut) minu...

Re: Latest Alfred Hitchcock UHD Classics Collection
Offtopic-Question:
Is it even worth to buy such old movies as UHD? On movies prior the year 2000 I so far only seen the trend, where an old grainy source was just upsampled without any remastering.

Out of curiousity: Where you running Google Chrome browser while doing so? I remember having a kinda similar problem with another program in the past. While Chrome was open, I could not make a drive lock to the external device, causing the program to fail. I still don't know, why Chrome would even c...

Re: Region change
On BluRays region lock is purely software related. So if you use e.g. VLC and set VLC to the specified region, your BluRay should play.

Re: FEATURE REQUEST: Auto-Focus Cursor on Text Field
(I tag almost every track in almost every title during setup, all in their own language). But why? I mean what information do you write in there? MakeMKV knows already which language an audio track or subtitle track is (if the disc is mastered correctly, which is usually the case). And any player s...

Re: best setting for archival purpose - decrypt or not
I once made a poll in another forum. Unfortunately I didn't got too many replies: https://i.imgur.com/MqpMUUj.png (https://i.imgur.com/MqpMUUj.png if picture isn't shown) Just keep in mind: MakeMKV doesn't remove much of protections. Region Lock won't be removed (well not much of a problem with VLC ...

Re: John Wick 2014 4K
It seems MakeMKV is collecting this information and adding it to the software like I’ve read Redfox does. Am I wrong. As much as I know, no, MakeMKV does not "collect" these informations and send them somewhere. MakeMKV just uses an installed Java and goes through the BluRay menu like a &...

Re: John Wick 2014 4K
Cinavia cannot be removed. Even DVDfab only claims to be able to do so for certain language tracks. But... this is not a problem at all, because most software players give a shit about the cinavia protection and will ignore it. Though I cannot give you a list, which players do. "Official" ...

Re: unable to decrypt iso files
I've never used dvdisaster , but it doesn't look like it deals with the bus encryption inherent to blu-rays and UHDs. To bypass this problem, place your BD into the drive, start MakeMKV and open the BluRay (so you see the titles and such). At this moment, LibreDrive is uploaded into the RAM of the ...
