Re: WH16NS60, PCAV mode
But it will still be CAV, right?
With 8X max drive starting speed is 3.4X. 6X max- start at 2.4X. 4X max - start at 2.15X
For reliable 4K playback reading speed must be at least 3.4X (UltraHD official drives read 4k discs at this speed and higher). So CAV mode is no good.

Re: WH16NS60, PCAV mode
Hello. Is it possible to switch WH16NS60 to PCAV mode for UHD discs? Goal to reduce noise during playback and improve read stability. Drive read UHD discs at 8xCAV. Such speed is redundant for 4k playback. Drive may significantly reduce ...

Re: I (Alex) have your drive: ASUS BW-16, LG BU40, & WH16NS60 alexcoluzzi32@gmail.com - sales & service leader.
I made an account to post my review.
My ASUS BW-16 arrived quite quickly in the mail and with it I managed to ripped out a blu ray and a 4k, no problems at all.
Excellent service, Alex is very honest and helpful. Highly recommend.

Re: WH16NS60 not working on Bluray/UHD?
We reflashed the drive to 1.02 and are still having the same issues. No 4ks will rip, even ones we ripped previously. It reads the first one we put in, fails to rip it, and then when we try another it can't see a disk. Blurays are hit or miss, we can only rip 1-5 a day before it stops working, but ...

LG WH16NS40: Cross-flashing WH16NS60 firmware
... LG WH16NS40, on which I've downgraded to the 1.02 firmware and have been able to rip 4K discs. I've heard there are benefits to cross-flashing the WH16NS60 firmware on the WH16NS40 and am considering doing so. I've seen this thread which has a link to a MK firmware pack: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=19113 ...
