I backed up my copy yesterday after I received it. Make sure that your ISP isn't blocking MakeMKV's outgoing connections for hashed key updates, perhaps?

As I said in my edit, the issue was IPv6 connectivity (for some reason my ISP's IPv6 connectivity stopped working), after I disabled that it downloaded the HK update successfully and backed up the disc.

Sounds like it only likes certain versions of the Dolby Vision metadata format. I think you'd need to use dovi_tool to convert it, but I'm not sure of the specifics. Apparently it only like the 05.09 version?

Almost nobody producing commercial discs is using x265. I can count the number of discs I've dumped on my two hands (and I've dumped nearly 1000 Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray discs) that has metadata showing it was authored with x265.
