Re: Samsung SE 506 info
Sorry for the Noob question, but is MKB mean AACS? Yes I mean, are you saying version 1.14.5, and up have host certificate to handle AACS v72 for drives without libredrve? Yes, but the inhibitor to access any disc is the revocation table which blocks programs like MakeMKV from accessing the drive, ...

Re: Do I Need LibreDrive
I need to wait until MakeMKV has the key for AACS v72, right? No, But MakMKV needs a new Key to access the drive, because the old one is revoked by using a disc with an updaded revocation table. MakeMKV can already handle AACS 72 with Libredrive access. My GoT S8 discs works very well with MakeMKV.

Re: Do I Need LibreDrive
The drive tolds the highest AACS version processed for far! There is no firmware to "upgrade" the drive to support AACS Version xyz. The GoT Blu-rays comes with AACS 72 and a key revocation list thats blocks now the MakeMKV key to access the drive. With Libredrive enabled drives, the softw...

Re: Multiple Titles - which is the correct title ID to use?
Sorry, no idea if there are any tools available to perfrom this task. Never done, this is all imbedded inside the VOB files.

Re: Multiple Titles - which is the correct title ID to use?
No, the segment maps on DVDs are inside of VOB streams and not Blu-ray single stream xxxx.m2ts elements. On DVD this is called "Seamless Branching", the player jumps to the next stream part in the VOB. The difference is only segment 6 and 7 and I think this is something with the title info...

Re: MakeMKV is skipping VTS tracks
That's what I say, other tools works, but MakMKV cannot process them. If you can "backup" (Encrypted) it with DVDShrink you can use "MKVToolsNIX GUI" to add and append the VTS-VOB files, first VOB with add, the other VOBs for the specific VTS with append to create an mkv file. Th...

Re: AACS 2.1 support
Mike,
do not waste time with "protected" ISO files, if the same and working functionality is given with the MakeMKV backup function. For me, there is no need to use "protected" ISO files.

Re: MakeMKV is skipping VTS tracks
Above the "skip" text is the Debug code. But, no idea what this code means. DVD structures can be very strange. It was the first time (approx 1995) to describe the content with metadata and control the functions and access and put all in an IFO file. Seen a lot of older DVDs which very bad...

Re: Switch off Subtitles During Playback by Default
Subtitles are supposed to be off by default. The "Default selection rule" reads: "-sel:all,+sel:(favlang|nolang),-sel:mvcvideo,=100:all,-10:favlang" Subtitles are not "On" or "Off". Subtitles can be ripped or not by selecting them, eigther manuell or by the a...

Re: DVD differences
They don't even look as good as the Netflix episodes. I've tried various filters and filter combinations, but to no avail. Really ...? You are comparing DVD with Netflix content and are surpised about the different look? DVD uses interlaced frames and have a max. resolution of 720x576px (anamorph f...

It's currently not supported by MakeMKV
But, you can write a f.e Powershell script for getting the MKV header infos with mkvmerge in JSON format, analyse it and build commands for mkvpropedit to change whatever you want.

Re: Libredrive possible but not enabled
but my understanding is that if it is running, it will not revoke a drives aacs if a disc has a higher number than the current makemkv version? The drive was revoked due to an updated key revocation table which prohibts MakeMKV from accessing it. This came normaly with newer AACS versions, but can ...
