Batman Begins blu-ray

I can't back up my Batman Begins blu-ray... with either of my two drives. Before someone tells me it's a bad disc, I also tested a library copy as well as Netflix. All three of them, on both drives, give me the same problem. (By the way, I do see that v.1.14.1 is out... I had skipped over 1.13 becau...

Chronicles of Riddick Blu-Ray Hashcheck Error

Chronicles of Riddick will not rip with either Blu-Ray drive of mine. Both of my drives (LG and Lite-On) have ripped movies successfully before and after attempting to rip Chronicles of Riddick. I will paste the results of trying to rip in both drives below (both using an immaculate copy of Chronicl...

Re: A Prayer Before Dawn playlist obfuscation

Ok, I have a free trial, and I think (?) it is playlist #484. I had to disable BitDefender because it was identifying AnyDVD (which is apparently needed in order to use CloneBD) as a virus. Just curious... what about after the 21-day free trial expires and this situation happens again? And not that ...

Re: A Prayer Before Dawn playlist obfuscation

I already have Java installed (main title is not identified for this movie because it's too new), it is not a Disney movie (Disney does the 800 and 801 playlist thing), and I'm not interested in buying yet another piece of software when MakeMKV is already working perfectly 99% of the time. A Prayer ...

suggestion

MakeMKV already notifies the user that a new version is available. I think it would be really useful for everyone (especially the author of MakeMKV!) if the new version notification text would also provide a link to known bugs for the currently installed version, as the bugs become known. Really bad...

Re: Inception

Thanks. That fixed the problem. :D It now rips just fine. I was also having an issue with Pitch Black (another BluRay in immaculate condition) - it would fail only 35 seconds into the ripping, practically before it even began. MakeMKV already notifies the user that a new version is available. I thin...

Inception

I can't get Inception (Blu-Ray) to rip. After a little more than 30 seconds I get a "0 titles saved, 1 failed" error message. I've tried this copy twice in my LG internal drive, and twice more in my Lite-On drive that is in an external enclosure (AC powered, not USB powered). Same error ev...

Re: MakeMKV to Handbrake for 4K (UHD)???

For non main 4k/UHD device viewing (tablets, phones, whatever), essentially all UHD discs come with digital licenses so streaming from VUDU (or other similar store) is ideal in those cases and requires no transcoding or other effort. Digital licenses carry the huge drawback of pulling society furth...

Re: Correct .mpls file for The commuter 2017

I was a MakeMKV owner for months before I realized that this feature works, only if you install Java on the system. I wish that had been more clear, sooner. Or, perhaps it is and I just didn't read enough to see it. I was a user for years before realizing this was possible. Another thread that may ...

Re: Feature Request: Do what you do without Java

Thanks, all interesting to know. I will install Java and keep it away from my web browsers, and will stay away from Flash if humanly possible. I also now have a Windows 7 VM within my new Win10 install - thanks for that suggestion. I do still think it would be worthwhile to aspire to having MakeMKV ...

Feature Request: Do what you do without Java

I am wondering if it is humanly conceivable to be able to make MakeMKV function fully (i.e. identify correct tracks for the user when track obfuscation occurs) without having to install Java? Eventually? In a future version? See http://www.nbcnews.com/id/47107530/ns/technology_and_science-security/t...

Re: Could Java ever *enable* copy protection?

I used Windows Media Player to play the MP4. I double-checked with VLC - same problem. The message is burned into the movie. Perhaps I chose the wrong playlist, although that would be ironic considering I've never chosen the wrong Blu-Ray playlist before. (Before, I'd Google "[movie name] Makem...

Could Java ever *enable* copy protection?

A month ago or so, I ripped Good Time (2017). Today I started watching the digital backup, and around 7:36 into the movie I get this: Dear customer, The disc you've inserted cannot be played due to copyright restrictions. Please visit [blah blah] to purchase a genuine copy. If you try to play back a...
