Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Just got the x700 today. Notice one issue: when I start playing a dolby vision file from an external hdd connected to the x700, the tv goes blank and shows no signal for a few seconds before the film actually start playing. Any fix for that? My TV is LG OLED C9. That's normal, the TV switches refre...

Sony X700 and X800m2 does not trigger DV but Sdr
remux it to TS and it will work. The MP4 version in my dovi test files GD folder should work as well.
Any review on the Dune HD Real Vision 4k? Is it a good alternative to the sony x700 when it comes to playing dolby vision files?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Is anyone here using windows 11? Is it possible to play dolby vision m2ts files on pc yet? I see there is a new media player app on win 11 but at the moment I don't have the hardware to test dolby vision myself.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

It could theoretically work if the router has the feature of running as a DLNA server to serve the files on the device plugged into its USB port. But, according to @RESET_9999's excellent playback devices info spreadsheet , there's a problem that the x700 only has slow 100Mbps ethernet and slow wi-...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Hi. Question: say I have a good wifi 6 router that has a usb port. Can the sony x700 access the movie files I store in an external hdd somehow and play them well if I connect that hdd to the router via the usb port and connect the router to the sony x700 via the lan port?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

When I connect the usb hard drive that contains movies into the x700, can I cut/copy/paste movies' files from folders to folders directly on the x700? Because based on what discussed here, the bluray folder of a movie needs to be placed in the root folder of the hard drive in order to be played with...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

#1 Buy a Sony UBP-X800M2 #2 Make a full-disc decrypted backup using MakeMKV #3 Find the playlist for the version of the movie you want (it's probably 00800.mpls for the English version) #4 Drop that into tsMuxer #5 Set it to output M2TS, and select the audio and subtitle tracks you want #6 Watch th...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

If I have to buy an x700, to get rid of all the green screen or fast forward bug, the correct method is using tsmuxer to mux the original bluray rip to bmdv folder and playing it from root folder of the external hard drive, right? Does this work with every movie out there or there are exceptions an...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

The ones that aren't working for me are: Dune (2021): fails at about 0:03:06 just after Chani says "why did the emperor choose this path, and who will our next oppressors be?". playback freezes, but the player remains responsive Back to the Future: fails at about 0:00:28 and player skips ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

transcoding my MKVs back to M2TS! If all your DV movies are in MKV, you'll have a lot of work to do because you'll have to convert TrueHD to TrueHD+ac3 with eac3to (unless the tsmuxer devs add support soon). Also, if your profile 7 files are single track dual layer MKV, you'll have(sometimes) to 1-...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

1- the x800m2 has a 5GHZ wifi chip so it's actually faster than the 100mbps ethernet port. I just watched Dead Heat 92mbps avg bitrate(streamed from my PC) and it didn't buffer one time. My router is in the same room as my player though: the 5ghz range is not as good as 2ghz. 2- nop it doesn't work...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Just bought an X800m2 ... - High bitrate movie via 5GHZ wifi works flawlessly (tested Dead Heat 92mbps avg bitrate and peak over 100mbps all the time) - This player is not affected by the tsmuxer dual-track dual-layer bug, no green/purple screen issue.. WOW!!! - This player auto-switch from DV, HDR...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

So I read that for the x700 to play dolby vision m2ts without issues we need to remux it to bluray folder structure and put it in the root folder. If you want to play a DV P7 file that was originally ripped from a UHD BD, then yes, you want to remux back into BDMV format and put the folders at the ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

So I read that for the x700 to play dolby vision m2ts without issues we need to remux it to bluray folder structure and put it in the root folder. What about non dolby vision movies, i.e. hdr10 movies? Do we need to the same thing? What if the file is not m2ts but remuxed mkv, will the hdr10 and dol...
