Re: Chaos Walking

it was track 106 Just a reminder to reference the playlist (mpls) and the segment map (list of m2ts files) when you’re discussing the correct playlists. The t # (“track”/title number) in the MKV filename, if you don’t change MakeMKV’s default file naming, is an “arbitrary“ number assigned by MakeMK...

So can I assume that makemkv does not drop any video frames, but only adjust the audio stream to keep sync?
That’s correct.

Re: I created a site to help people know what titles to rip from discs

The site isn’t loading for me on mobile... it just says “An unhandled error has occurred.” I thought of a similar idea using a site I had actually already setup, but never got around to it... was thinking of posting the BDinfo and also various key info that could be related to MakeMKV and playlists ...

Re: Some 16:9 scenes are being sliced down to 2.35:1

Yes, it's 100% HandBrake as mentioned. MakeMKV does not touch the video stream when it copies it off the disc into the MKV container. When you use HandBrake, take note of the "Cropping" settings in the "Picture" tab. You'll see that the "Automatic" Cropping may crop on ...

Re: Manually pass volume key to MakeMKV

- Did you name the text file keydb.cfg?
- Have you tried a non-decrypted backup from the disc (folder icon when you first start MakeMKV, instead of opening the disc), and then try opening the backup? It looks as if MakeMKV is having some other errors when trying to open the disc.

Re: DVD TV episode split into two

The DV is a UK sitcom from the 1990s called "Goodnight Sweetheart". There are three problem episodes in the 7 series set. All episode 4 for some reason. Good to know. Hopefully someone else may have the same release or may come across this thread via Google and be able to offer further ad...

When you make a backup, there is an Options checkbox for "Decrypt video files" When you make a backup without decryption, the backup structure should be as follows: AACS BDMV CERTIFICATE discatt.dat When you make a backup WITH decryption, the backup structure should be as follows: BDMV CER...

Re: Letterboxing flipping on and off from scene to scene

As mentioned, many movies that have these “IMAX” or expanded aspect ratios use them more selectively at specific scenes, with the entire scene in the expanded ratio, and then switching back, not switching back and forth constantly on a shot-by-shot basis. TRON: Legacy is another example but there ar...

Re: DVD TV episode split into two

If you haven’t already, you may want to look at Manual DVD Mode . It may also help to tell us what the name of the series is and which country release you have, as you may get more help that way, especially if someone owns the same series and has already dealt with it. If someone can help with this ...

Re: Too many hash check errors in brand new drive that works on other files

I recommend checking the stickied “read this first” rip errors thread. If the drive works fine on other discs and on other titles of the same disc, you can probably rule out a drive issue. MakeMKV is reporting read errors, so either the disc has a legitimate issue or the drive is having difficulty r...

I have this series... the UK release.

This series was released in many countries and there may be minor differences. Which release do you have?

Re: Duplicate and missing subtitles from Inside Job

I don't have this particular disc, but my advice would be:

- Check for alternate playlists
- Check the original m2ts files

(Please note that this thread has been moved to the "Blu-ray discs" forum.)

I never got it to work for me, but I've always been too busy to pursue it further, it may be my projector or my graphics card.

Re: Criterion Wong Kar Wai Box Set disc issues?

This would fall under rip errors and specifically read issues, from the type of error message you mention, it sounds as if the drive is having a problem reading the discs. One thing in addition to the advice in the linked thread that you may want to try is just shut down everything and give it a fre...
