Not sure about Handbrake but makemkv does not compress the output file so you get full quality.

UK version didn't have multiple files. Was expecting it to but no.

I get the "program reads faster than it can write" warnings but that's fine.

I have tried it quite a few times (Blu-ray rips) and never had any fail.
