Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision
It can't be that crazy. Someone should be able to figure it out and it could lead us to Dolby vision mkv! Unfortunately I think it's on the playback side, not the storage. Since the MP4 is just storing the dual layer stream just like we've already been able to do with MKV. It's just that the LG (an...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I don't know how to really test it other than finding a scene that looks dramatically different in DV versus HDR10. I used Justice League, so if anyone has any idea where there's a difference I can look. I have Spider-Man Homecoming as well. Doesn't it need the ability to play dual layer for UHD dis...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Also, I've tried converting the TrueHD Atmos stream to DD+/eac3, but haven't been able. The information I saw suggested using XMedia Recode, but it's only converting a few seconds and saying it did it completely. I haven't been able to find any other program that will convert to eac3. I would think ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
No, it's still a dual layer stream. It's showing up in MKVToolNix with a different name than the original m2ts's second stream, but it's otherwise the same as far as I can tell. I tried using MKVToolNix to remux the two video streams from the MP4 into an MKV with the original TrueHD/Atmos track, whi...

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision
That's actually quite interesting given that the source for it is available. In theory, someone might be able to look at the source and see how it muxes things together. I've no idea if that'd help get it into an MKV format or not. MP4 containers don't support TrueHD (i.e. ATMOS) so ideally you'd w...

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision
You guys do realize you can make an MP4 (I know not MKV) Dolby Vision back up from an ISO? You'll need to demux an ISO and grab both video layers. Than you need to run it through a Dolby Vision Mp4muxer which is available for free online. The only caveat is the audio has to be in ac3 format. But if...

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision
Yea, there's no player, not even official ones like PowerDVD, that supports DV on the PC. And I'm not sure there ever will be. DV has to be licensed to implement it. It would be nice though. Exactly, you want to watch REAL Dolby Vision buy the disc and a good disc player. Remuxing in any fashion de...

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision
i can play them but the colors are off by like 90 degrees and even if you change the color by 90 it still looks off. Windows 10 does support Dolby vision out it is in some games we just need a player that supports it. sorry if i got your hopes up there really just meant m2ts would be the better for...

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision
How do you play DV files on PC? I can play HDR10 no problem but I haven't seen any way to play even the demo DV files.Billycar11 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 5:00 amor you could just use a pc the best platform ever and use it as a m2ts file and have Dolby Vision, HDR 10, Atmos, DTS X, True HD, DTS MA HD

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55
Just wanted to share a successful downgrading experience with this method, but also a couple tips that might help folks if they run into similar problems. I have a new LG WH16NS40 and I used the Windows 7 method. My motherboard has two SATA controllers and my drive is plugged into the Intel controll...

Re: Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut
OK, so after reading through as much of those links as I could, it looks like this disc has a new key from previous presses. I submitted the dump to the svq@makemkv.com. I still assert that your response was not very helpful, as I did search and it wasn't obvious that any of those things were relate...

Re: Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut
I don't see how that's helpful. I did search and I found multiple posts about Deadpool 2 working. None of these threads talk about that.

Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut
I just crossflashed my LG 16NS40 to the Asus 3.02 firmware (which was hair-raising due to multiple freezes in Windows 7!), but it seems to be working ok. When I load the standard Deadpool 2 UHD MakeMKV reads it fine. However when I load the Super Duper Cut (which is the one I want to rip), it says &...
