Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
It could be a player issue (though if it is it's hard to say when, if ever, a fix is found and implemented) or it could be a makemkv issue causing it. I'm leaning towards Makemkv just based on the fact that playing direct from the disc works perfectly. When Makemkv extracts the movie to the mkv cont...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
Actually Oppo has stated firmware updates will continue current version is 65 Sent from my iPhone Xs Max using Tapatalk Pro Fair enough. Hadn't seen an update since June so figured they'd cut that off as well. Just saw they released one in February, but my player must have auto updated and is alrea...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
Good question I'm not sure what they used. Alternatively those who kept the ATMOS extensions and play it on a receiver incapable of handling ATMOS also noticed no issues. It's kind of weird. Not everybody... I just upgraded to an atmos avr in the last couple weeks. Prior to that I was still getting...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
Can that be done from within makemkv somehow or does it require using eac3to and a remux? I'd settle for just a basic True HD track on these problem discs.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
that's correct. once you rip the full valerian disc contents (not mkv) go into its dir and put the largest .m2ts file from \bdmv\streams\ into its own folder. then run my app and point it to that folder and click install. wait about 1h15m ish. that's it. you'll be able to play the new mp4 directly ...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
the latest lav update fixed all audio drop outs for me and others for atmos tracks. give it a try. I have, believe me. I was testing it on the JRiver forum when Nev was fixing it. It does not fix ALL the audio dropouts. It vastly improved the situation, but, with a MakeMKV rip of Incredibles 2 I st...

the latest lav update fixed all audio drop outs for me and others for atmos tracks. give it a try. Would, but I'm streaming to an Oppo 203 (so disappointed Oppo stopped making players and stopped updating the firmware on this... best player of any kind I've ever had!) , which has nothing to do with...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
The Incredibles 2 and Leon the Professional are the worst two I've come across. No idea how to fix this yet. I might try folder rips on them and then different extraction remuxing if those work fine. I've got an open issue with another ripping solution for that issue. Specifically on Incredibles 2 ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
So I read through this thread and I'm a bit confused. Just want to confirm a few points. 1.) This process creates an MP4 container file that contains all the main files just like we would rip when making an MKV? 2.) The DV layer is converted (or whatever) into a 10 bit layer vs. the original 12 bit?...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
Yep, what bmillham said. Dolby Atmos is just metadata tacked on to a True HD track. I've got over a 100 UHD's with Atmos tracks that play and decode fine on my receiver (atmos flag lights up and sound comes out of the height speakers.) DTS-X also works perfectly. The only issue I have with atmos is ...

Re: Harry Potter 8 movie Collection 4K Discs
Ok, All are opening and ripping for me now! Interesting to note that Chamber of Secrets was the most difficult. Currently on my 3rd attempt to rip after it finally opened. Had read errors the first 2 times. Looked the disc over and it had one barely noticeable smudge (had to be held at the perfect a...

Re: Harry Potter 8 movie Collection 4K Discs
Same here on 2, 6, and 7.
I just updated the hashed key list for 8-13 to get Infinity Wars. I'll try these again and send a dump if they're still a no go.

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision
Just wanted to throw an update here. Watched TLJ HDR version I ripped last night. MASSIVE improvement! This is how I expected it to look in DV. Turns out it IS my TV. Seems as though raised black levels on DV content is an issue on the LG OLEDs. The latest firmware seems to take care of this, but it...

Could just be a bad disc, as well. Take it back to where you bought it and exchange it for another. 99% of retailers will do this no questions asked.

Re: LG WH16NS40 can't read The Last Jedi
Ripped TLJ on Tuesday and had zero issues. Same drive. Revision 1.02 Firmware date: 2117-03-10 16:50
No problems with any other recent Disney movies I can think of, either. Thor ripped perfect as well.
