Re: MKV file is created with no error, but the file is corru
I am quite fond of the K-Lite Codec pack, can be downloaded easily from free-codecs.com. It also installs a little plugin so that Windows Explorer shows thumbnails of all your videos. It can remove the little annoying "filmstrip" from the thumbnail as well. Media Player Classic HC is a min...

Re: LPCM / MS ACM
Your link goes to a thread from 2011 in which mike says he would have fixed soon. I believe the issue might be related to a post I just made in the dvd errors section.Woodstock wrote:http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2530

Re: Audio is muted for the first several seconds
I've seen issues when the user is sending digital audio out to a receiver of some sort and the receiver has to latch on and figure out what type of signal it is receiving. Often times about half a second but it could be worse with some types of audio and receivers.

Re: Buck Rogers (Season 2)
And, best I can tell, one disk in Season 5 of Hercules is just not mastered correctly, because I received copies from several vendors, including Netflix, that had the same read error in the same sector on the disk. Interesting. Could be the re-issues or different territory as I have all seasons rip...

Won't rip LPCM correctly
MakeMKV seems to have trouble properly ripping dvds with PCM Audio. Trying to rip the videos from the bonus dvd that comes with the album "California 37 Deluxe Edition" by Train. The audio of the MKV has massive flutter when played back. Tried VLC, MPC and Kodi. I would figure if I had a b...

Star Trek DS9 Season 1 Region 1 slow rips
Am finally getting around to making a backup to PC of my Star Trek DS9 tv series. Upon ripping Season 1, I am seeing very slow ripping. So far I am trying these in an ASUS 24B1ST. 1.0c drive. What is happening is it looks like it pauses for very long periods of time. There are no unusual sounds such...

Re: Can MakeMKV Determine Movie Title from DVD?
The answer is... It depends upon the DVD. Not all of them have title information present. I do know that, if it IS there, MakeMKV will try to use it, at least in the GUI. I wish if the title was known it would consistently name the corresponding mkv file consistently. Sometimes we see "nameofm...

Every time I start MakeMKV and there is a new version available it notifies me in the startup window. Not the same for you?spaded21 wrote:Didn't realize there was an update available, I was still on 1.10.5. Working now, thanks!

Re: Pioneer BDR-XD05 slow read on Mac solution
It is very common to have to visit the Japan site to get a firmware update newer than what you have installed as well as have to run the Windows utility to switch a drive to performance mode. Is the nature of the beast.

Re: Is MakeMKV still being developed?
What has happened with AnyDvd and Dvd Fab is that they've progressed to a certain version that requires a re-purchase. I don't know if MakeMKV has reached a saturation point yet but I would imagine an eventual non-beta release that requires an additional registration.

Re: CSI: NY Season 3 Aspect Ratio issue
Creating an MKV using DvdFab seems to also show the correct aspect ratio without the need to modify it afterwards. Is there another header somewhere not being set?

Shout Factory generally has straightforward AACS. No BD+ Code, not multiple playlists.

Most of us rip a disc in under 10 minutes. Some even less than 5 minutes. Although not an absurd request, I cannot see much need for it.

Re: AACS 2.0 is cracked?
News is that allegedly there was a weakness to this title only. But if that's the case there should still be enough to go on to figure out how it works.

Re: Newbie Questions
One thing about MakeMKV though is you do not need an additional application to rip the actual movie to a usable file on the PC. ANYDVD pairs with Clone BD.
Also, MakeMKV is not susceptible to Streetlock protection. It's nice to have both packages but if I were to pick 1 it would be MakeMKV.
