Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware

There are a few other posts in this forum--including this thread--where people have reported the same. It was either people forgetting to properly setup the hash key file or a disc issue. Example: https://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=16885&start=135 Have you tried replacing th...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware

Hi, I have a BW-16D1HT. Details as follows: Manufacturer: ASUS Product: BW-16D1HT Revision: 3.02 Firmware date: 2117-11-15 17:16: I thought firmware 3.02 was OK for a UHD friendly drive but when I load my UHD disk Makemkv spins for a few seconds and reports No Disc. Is this disk failure due to the ...

Re: Current Makemkv beta registration key rejected by 1.12.0

“...whenever a key expires before the new key is issued.” You act like that’s a normal thing in the world. It’s not. It’s a good thing this approach of allowing the current thing to become non-functional before its replacement is available isn’t followed in most areas of life. Like insurance, biolo...

Re: LG WH16NS40 can't read The Last Jedi

The first key for the UHD BD of TLJ (Region A) was added on 3/14/18. There is a discussion on Myce that tracks key additions for MakeMKV and that addition was confirmed on that day. I also checked myself upon announcement. Someone with early access to the disc submitted the dump. Other regions shoul...

Re: Version 12 Cannot Open UHD Blu-Rays, but Version 10 Can

Version 1.12 has been out for literally several months. Many users--including myself--have successfully decrypted many UHD discs using this version since its release. Are you following the instruction posted by Mike in this sticky for the updated Hashed keys? http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic....

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision

Actually it may be possible to use something like MadVR to pass-through DV. Madshi, MadVR's creator/developer has said so himself: Actually, it might be possible. Dolby Vision consists of an additional video stream/layer, and additional metadata. What madVR could in theory do is: 1) madVR could make...

Re: Face Palm

Wow. You are a bit all over the place here attempting things that will NOT work or are completely unrelated. I know what you are going through is frustrating, but the whole process is far simpler. Look before you leap. 1. Do as preserve pointed out and read that FAQ. 2. Yes, you need to meet the min...

Re: PC build and video card

Does MadVR support 10 or 12 bit? Thank you all for your replies, very helpful. Yes. But keep in mind that it's best to do passthrough in these cases. Meaning, your GPU, GPU driver, and TV would have to all support 10 and/or 12 bit so that they can pass it and then the TV can process the HDR. Have t...

Re: PC build and video card

You will need a card capable of 4K resolutions (3840 x 2160; 4096 x 2160). Does not have to be super high end, but powerful enough to support standard playback on the size TV you will be playing the movie on. For example, one setup I work on has a GTX 1050TI dedicated to the 4K TV used to playback 4...

Read this post:

Specifically towards the end where Mike himself posts regarding this drive.

I believe he has yet to announce and release a version with official support for this drive.
