Re: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 error: Linux 1.10.6

This a problem with the 4K release? I've been trying to rip that in Windows land, and haven't gotten anywhere. Cyberlink can't play it, because it requires some funky Intel BIOS extensions (which as I am running a Ryzen system...). If I'm reading you correctly, you're trying to rip the UHD/4K disc ...

Re: SEPT code No Longer Working

MakeMKV is officially still in beta but that does not mean one cannot buy a license to help support the product. As to the "hidden piss of people who bought the software", those of us who have paid do not have an issue with the 2-month expiration, in fact I'm using it right this moment no ...

Re: Won't install; says MKV is already running...

If you're on a Windows machine, do as Chetwood suggested; open Task Manager and kill makemkvcon.exe and any other MakeMKV functions, has always worked for me. Also, try restarting your computer, see if that helps.

I can assure you that it does, at least I was able to back up my copy many years ago. As Lovely Rita correctly asked, what error message are you seeing? Please post.

From one owner to another, thank you, and completely agree with your reasoning.

Re: Blu-ray error

@Karl58, if the rip is successful, meaning the rip to a .mkv file happened without MakeMKV reporting errors, it would appear the issue is with either the playback software (VLC) or with your computer not being able to handle playing back the file and therefore artifacting (cross lines). I'd suggest ...

Re: Blu-ray error

First thing to check is that you selected an audio track; depending on how your preferences are set, MakeMKV could have ripped the track with no audio, that's happened to me once or twice in the past when I didn't review audio tracks first. Make sure the box in front of the audio track you want is t...

Re: Windows 10 upgrade

If your receipt from Avangate/Guinpin is similar to mine, you will have a line below "Name" and "Email" listed as "Activation Key". Copy all of the characters of the key ONLY, excluding all spaces before and after, and paste into the registration field in MakeMKV. There...

In the past we were able to extract/decrypt these files using a Windows machine with AnyDVD but sadly that great utility is no longer supported and no longer works :-( AnyDVD still exists (use it myself), now owned by RedFox, Slysoft's former software development team. https://www.redfox.bz/. Re: Running an MKV through mkvtoolnix after rip

I've rarely (like maybe twice) had to use MKVToolNix to remux a file created by MakeMKV but I do not recall running into an audio sync issue. I recommend remuxing and testing both files.

Re: Trouble with two Movies

Per blu-ray.com, both of these are older titles, should rip fine, I've successfully backed up Requiem a long time ago. Please copy and past the error report you're seeing for both.

BTW, from one paid registered user to another, thank you for helping the project!

Re: Can you please explain why I see so many titles?

I think this is more than just playlist obfuscation, it's someone just discovering what is actually on a disc. How a disc is authored is completely up to the producer of the disc, ie there may not be rhyme or reason why it was created the way it was. I also have seen duplicate or triplicate t...

Re: Newbie here

It's still a work in progress but MakeMKV can often pick up the correct playlist if you install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) on your computer and have MakeMKV point to it (View/Preferences/Protection, enter the location of JRE in "Custom Java Executable Location" field). Restart the prog...

Re: Newbie here

Hello all, This will be my first time ripping Blu-ray movies. I have a decent collection of movies & TV Shows that I ripped using handbrake, I would like to expand my collection with Blu-ray movies now. I'll be using an iMac 5K for my project, is there any known software similar to AnyDVD HD th...

Re: Black Sails

Frustrating indeed. It certainly does look like the mastering is the problem if the rip fails at the exact same point. If it's possible, and I'm not sure how one would be able to do this easily, try to find a disc that was made in a different batch lot. Rental vs. purchase, different country, differ...
