Re: 7.1 DTS-HD and 5.1 DTS DON'T CONVERT PROPERLY??

OK, so it looks like Handbrake only goes up to 5.1 output for AAC output. I don't generally use GUIs so I'm not sure if MeGUI, StaxRip or any of the others can handle 7.1. I don't know what you've tried If FFMPEG is giving you troubles for any reason, you can try EAC3To which was basically designed ...

Re: Bluray playback script for VLC/HandBrake/Kodi on Windows

Just a nitpick, but it's generally called "Administrator Rights" (plural). It looks kind of odd the way you've written it. If anyone is interested this a batch that will call administrator rights automatically. http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/3759 ... ost2471615 It's set to put a vbs sc...

Re: Simple batch for bluray playback with VLC for Windows

Since you need administrator privileges anyway, you might as well just put symbolic links to the libraries in the VLC directory. That way you don't have to copy the libraries every time MakeMKV updates to make sure you have the latest versions and you don't need three copies of each dll on your syst...

google is the best I've got. Never done anything like it before.

All I can say is make sure the "decrypt video" checkbox is unchecked when you start the MakeMKV backup.

Re: HELP NEEDED - How to RIP from files copied to hard drive

I just tried again, this time I did a unencrypted back-up until it reached the first m2ts file, then I just manually copied the STREAM folder from the Blu Ray using basic windows drag and drop and it's working fine again. I have no idea what went wrong last time or where the actual limitations start...

Re: HELP NEEDED - How to RIP from files copied to hard drive

Well, that actually worked. At first I tried starting a backup, and cancelling it after a few seconds, then copying all the files directly from the Blu Ray to the folder but it crashed on the analysis. So then I tried backing up the disc completely, then copying just the m2ts files into the backup d...

Re: HELP NEEDED - How to RIP from files copied to hard drive

I haven't tried it but maybe if you try start to make a backup without decrypting the video and then cancel it, MakeMKV will have already saved the decrypting information into the destination. If you just move the rest of the files from the disc to that folder it's possible MakeMKV will be able to d...

Re: HELP NEEDED - How to RIP from files copied to hard drive

That quote makes no sense. If you move the files on a blu ray or dvd to a hard drive without proper ripping software it's impossible to decrypt them later, since the drive is actually a necessary component of the decryption process, and once the files have been move off the disc the drive no longer ...

Re: Is there an easy way to change the icon of a ripped BD /

What windows version are you using? I have Windows 10 with the *cough* Advance Codec Pack installed. Windows 10 does come with a built in MKV demuxer but I don't know if that's enough. If you can't get setting cover.jpg to work, unless you can find a program to edit the thumbs.db files, there's not ...

Re: Is there an easy way to change the icon of a ripped BD /

*sigh* Download MKVToolNix if you haven't already, doubleclick the MKVToolNix GUI icon on your desktop, press the Header Editor tab on the side, drag and drop your mkv file onto the window, press the "Attachments" entry, press "Add Attachment," select your image file, click its n...

Re: General MKV question re. file size and compression

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD-Video DVD-Video discs have a raw bitrate of 11.08 Mbit/s, with a 1.0 Mbit/s overhead, leaving a payload bitrate of 10.08 Mbit/s. 1.89GB for 7 minutes = 1,890,000,000 / (7x60) = 4,500,000 BYTES per second which is 36000000 bits per second or 36 Mbits/s. Season 3 epis...

Re: General MKV question re. file size and compression

A 1.89gb 7 minute SD clip would actually use a bitrate three times that allowed by the DVD standard. Since DVD is the best available consumer source of SD content and everything else would use a lower bitrate your file was either re-encoded by an idiot or you've misinterpreted something. Either that...
