Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Does this dune support bdmv and iso with menu's? Probably more important question is whether this dune can properly decode dual layer (single track or dual track) DV. Not sure if anyone actually has one in hand yet, but I'm guessing it'll be soon and then we'll see. if he can play bdmv and iso, tha...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Now that it is clear that the Shield/CX has a problem with DV, does it make sense to remux the DV releases to HDR10 (drop the EL+RPU layer)? Or is what we are seeing equivalent to HDR10, only labelled as DV? Just play the DV remuxes in an app that doesn't support DV (non-beta Kodi, Emby, Mxplayer, ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
if i read the last pages, it seems to be that mkv lost the battle against dolby vision. am i right? there is no right way to play DV-files correctly with mkv? mkv didn't lose the battle with DV, quite the opposite actually. It's certainly no fault of the container that no devices can currently play...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I've looked through a lot of this thread, and have struggled to pin down whether a workflow exists that delivers an X700-friendly file with both DV video and TrueHD audio (with support for forced subs as the icing on the cake). While some of my 4K content is DTS, a lot is TrueHD/Atmos. I figured ou...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
a) Use the x700. Extract out the BL & EL from the main video of the iso and mux with latest nightly of tsmuxer. No yusecope's tool needed. b) Rip with makemkv 1.15.4 and done, no conversions needed. FEL will play, but EL is ignored. c) You cannot control this unless you have an HDFury or anothe...

Re: Streaming box/player for 4k DV & Atmos playbackl
Your best bet would be to just play the full disk folder or iso backups off your oppo. Which I definitely end up doing. The problem I have is that the Oppo doesn't end up playing with DV, just HDR10. If someone has a method to do that with an Oppo that would be awesome. But I kinda assume there isn...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
My system includes: 1) HTPC - with Plex Client 2) Shield 2019 Pro - with Plex Client 3) X700 - with 16GB USB drive 4) LG CX77 - with Plex Client 5) Denon 2020 AVR I very much like the look and feel of the Shield System, so that is my preferred method of streaming. With these options available to me...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hi, I followed that thread last year just as they was testing and teasing with it, (that is the site I bought the unit through) but most users have been disappointed with it so I never gave it a go, the way I understand it is you browse the library on an external device and then ‘fling’ it to the C...

Have you tried the method outlined here for integrating Emby with your chinoppo:DaMacFunkin wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 7:52 amYour right, it probably isn’t worth the hassle, I have gone back to ripping FEL titles as Movie only ISO and watching on the Chinoppo, I upgraded my server with an extra 24tb of the Christmas break so I’ve got space to play with for a while.JavierAlbadalejo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 1:52 amBut TV internal players aren't the best for playback, they lack chapters, may lack capacity for some audios (LG CX for example lacks DTS support).. lacks PGS support.. is it really worth it?deadchip12 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 1:35 amSo oled tvs' internal media player and the oppo 203 are still the best ways to watch these DV remuxes?
Do love the convenience of Kodi / Plex/ HT4 though ☹️

Seems promising and could be the best of both worlds if you can get it work.

Re: Streaming box/player for 4k DV & Atmos playbackl
Unfortunately no device at the moment is able to do Plex and DV+Atmos with 100% picture accuracy. Shield will do it, but there are picture quality issues. Your best bet would be to just play the full disk folder or iso backups off your oppo.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
To throw in a little detail to the mix. CX can play Dual Track DV MP4 files, but the file has to have been made using mp4muxer v1.0.0. The latest version of mp4muxer, v1.0.1, does something with file that it isn't played by the tv anymore. I checked the code changes, and it may be the change where ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I don't believe streaming devices will ever get full support for profile 7 FEL. Unfortunately true. I don't see any streaming devices putting in the extra work to be able to process FEL simply because no such content exists from streaming services. Besides, even if they wanted to, Dolby may not gra...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I do have a Sony UHD BD player that has Dolby Vision, particularly the 700 something, but with the new TV I legit do not have the space for it, so I can not hook it up in any form. But even if it was possible, I do prefer the much easier, faster, click and play part of streaming instead of putting ...
