@LoSLucifer Yeah, the steps can seem a bit daunting but really, this is the easy part! Anyway, I have created a 3.02 for you. Just unzip it and you are good to go. Yes, use the same program (dosflash) to erase the firmware and then install the new firmware. Let us know how you went.. LoSLucifer-ASUS...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55

@LoSLucifer Your welcome! It's really not that difficult. Just make sure you have a PC that can be put into IDE mode in the BIOS and ensure that you dump your original firmware first and back it up. As long as you have a backup of your original firmware, your unit can be restored if you mess up. As ...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55

@Domler Here is an ASUS 3.01 firmware with your data for you. (DON'T FORGET: Change the extension to .bin) Also, I have attached the ASUS firmware updater downloaded at the end of 2017 if you want to use it. After I flashed my drive to ASUS 3.01, I then used this firmware updater to upgrade my driv...

Re: Halloween (1978) UHD Bluray volume key?

@FredNation,

Nope. An official UHD drive will not work with MakeMKV at all, UNLESS IT HAS BEEN CROSS-FLASHED with a 'UHD Friendly' firmware.

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55

@Matt92, Your welcome. The ASUS is a little faster. That's about all really. I have 2 LG BH16NS55 drives, one with firmware 1.02 and the other cross-flashed to ASUS 3.02. The LG is the one I use the most as I have never had any read issues so far. I have ripped about 70-80 UHD's and have never even ...

Re: Halloween (1978) UHD Bluray volume key?

@OpenRift

I believe that your LG WH16NS60 is an official UHD drive. These do not work with MakeMKV for ripping UHD discs. You need a 'UHD friendly' drive to be able to rip UHD discs.

A search on this forum for 'UHD friendly' will give you more information.

Attached is a LG BH16NS55 1.02 Firmware created with the EEPROM Data Mover. I've also attached the ASUS 3.02 firmware updater if you want to cross-flash your drive.

Re: Cannot Rip any UHDs anymore

The first thing to try is clean the disc. UHD's are very temperamental. Even if they look perfectly clean, give them a clean anyway and try again. This seems to resolve most people's issues.

Re: blue ray ripping issue

Thanks Dorothymae, Unfortunately you will need to purchase a Blu-Ray Writer if you want to rip Blu-Ray discs. Also, if you have any interest in ripping Ultra HD Blu-Rays (UHD) either now or in the future, I would recommend purchasing a 'UHD Friendly' blu-ray writer, which can currently rip DVD/Blu-r...
