You can use software like NirCmd to eject and close disc tray without pressing the eject button. No need to replace a drive because of a faulty button.
Might be a good idea to add close disc tray function into MakeMKV. It only has eject function.

Re: Some Blu Ray Disks Will not Rip Right (pixelated)
Insufficient processing power in the RPi to decode the codec, or issues with getting the file into the decoder. I think the RPi has a hardware h.264 decoder built into it, but it probably doesn't handle VC-1 in hardware. And it may not be able to read the disk fast enough for high bit rates on USB2...

You mean like this?

Don't know about Indiana Jones, but sure looks normal for Rear Windows. The film isn't 16:9 to begin with.

Re: Force output file to MKV (H.264)
DVD only allows two types of video, MPEG2 and MPEG1. Pretty much 99% of DVD out there uses MPEG2. I only came across an MPEG1 DVD once and that DVD was a bootleg. I'm not aware of any legitimate DVDs out there that actually used MPEG1. Blu-ray allows three types of video: MPEG2 (very rare), VC-1 (ea...

Re: Force output file to MKV (H.264)
You have a huge misunderstanding on how video decoding and MakeMKV works. MakeMKV outputs whatever is on the Blu-ray disc, as-is. It makes no attempts to re-encode files other than FLAC or AAC audio should you use those profiles. In other words your problem is with the Roku3, not MakeMKV. Plus just ...

Re: Maybe an unanswerable question but...
Alright, what Blu-ray movie is that? And re-install old MakeMKV and do a comparsion. And I already mentioned this in my previous post, it is perfectly possible to run into a video where re-encoded file is larger than source. This happens a lot with overly compressed Blu-ray where studio were very ag...

Re: Maybe an unanswerable question but...
Encoding time should have nothing to do with MakeMKV, but rather the type of video you are trying to encode. For example, a grainy film will take considerably longer time to encode than a modern film as encoder takes longer time to find similarities between each frame. What you should've done is tak...

Re: U571 Blu Ray
My suggestion is to re-encode it into H.264 progressive using Handbrake. I would start with decomb default and set frame rate to 59.94 constant. This should produce a video file that Pi can play. BTW. Pi requires that one purchase VC-1 license in order to play VC-1 video. Not sure if it can handle i...

Re: U571 Blu Ray
According to this,
http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/U-571-Blu-ray/834/
U571 uses 1080 progressive VC-1 video with DTS-HD Master Audio. It may be possible that Blu-ray.com got the spec wronged, but we won't know for sure unless you download Mediainfo and use it to scan the mkv file.

Re: U571 Blu Ray
MakeMKV is a ripper, not encoder. You are not encoding anything with MakeMKV.
Post Mediainfo of the mkv produced by MakeMKV. Also what error did you see?

Most Blu-ray 3D use dual layer disc. A lot of TV series Blu-ray also use them.
It is possible that your drive were faulty and couldn't read dual layer disc anymore. The only way to tell is to test it on another Blu-ray burner.

Re: Impossible to convert the Blu-Ray "La Vie D'ad?le"
Get a replacement disc, it is faulty.
Blu-ray players are programmed to skip unreadable sector, hence it will play fine even though the disc is faulty.

Re: Wrong Chapter Timing
I too like to have this issue addressed. A simple option in the settings to disable timing correction is sufficient.
I experienced artifacts when using chapter seeking on Frozen 3D because of timing being changed by MakeMKV.

Cosmos uses dual layer disc. Have you tried any other Blu-ray that uses dual layer disc?

Re: 3D Bluray
3D Blu-ray uses MVC and MVC only. So MakeMKV can only produce MVC (it is a 1:1 ripper).
