Re: Van Helsing

And you seem to be unwilling to let anyone know what those issues are. Were you expecting people to guess?

Re: Autoripping

From the description on the page you linked to, the type of disk wouldn't matter. Although, 4K disks are more likely to have issues with keys when new, so automatic ripping may be a problem with fresh disks. Whether you trust it after that warning is up to you; No one here has any control over that ...

Re: New Titles

"Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed." usually means something is blocking you from getting the update file. This is more and more common as anti-piracy people start blocking hosts.

Have you read hkdata.crabdance.com or hkdata.fairuse.org not found yet?

Re: New Titles

You should submit the two files mentioned to be processed. MKB20_v77_Witchfinder_General_UHD_49E8.tgz MKB20_v77_Blood_on_Satans_Claw_UHD_D604.tgz The email address is the fastest. Then, assuming nothing is blocking access to the key server (nothing was mentioned in your logs), you should be able to ...

Re: New Titles

You haven't posted a log yet, but I'm guessing it says something like:
Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed.
somewhere along the log. That says it cannot download keys, which will prevent you from accessing anything your system doesn't have they key for yet.

Are you seeing that message?

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023

The question is really, why would you need to flash it?

UHD didn't start shipping until almost two years after this drive was built, so it doesn't add anything to your capabilities.

Re: New Titles

Are you still seeing the error message about not being able to download the key file? It is possible that they key has been generated, but your system is "protecting" you from it.

Re: Advice on 4K UHD

Do not post your .TGZ files here; they get emailed to svq@makemkv.com for processing. Posting them here does nothing but tell others you received them. The boss needs to get them before they can be processed. Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed. This is saying that your system is unable t...

Re: True Lies 4K

Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed.
You need to find out why the download is failing. Most likely, your system is blocking resolution of the path to the server, for "security". It's a common thing nowadays.

Nothing was attached, but you DID submit the file to svq@makemkv.com, correct?

Re: New Titles

OK, that general error message says that MakeMKV hasn't got the database with the decryption key for those disks. Assuming you are getting updates (that would be listed in the log), you should submit the .TGZ files that were generated to svq@makemkv.com, so that they can be created/added to the data...

Re: New Titles

No logs seen.

What error messages are you receiving? "Won't open" is very ambiguous without the logs. You do not have to "attach" them, just post them in the message.

Re: The Abyss 4K

You're encountering errors in reading. Two possibilities - dirty disk, or drive trying to read faster than it has power to do.

Is this a USB-powered drive?

Return the defective drives for replacement. There really isn't any other "fix" for a defective drive.

Re: Bypass errors

"There are no scratches on the disk" means nothing - anything that interferes with reading the bits is a problem. Fingerprints, for example, or even minor smudges. That's why "clean the disk" is a standard response here. MakeMKV does not have a "bypass mode". It tries t...
