Re: Unsure which firmware version to use
Currently have optical drive with version: HL-DT-ST_BD-RE__WH16NS60_1.03_212005081010_KL4KAN15750 Inside the firmware pack, in the old folder there is 2 firmware versions for this: HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.01-NM00100-211711202000.bin HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.bin I will try...

Re: Removing previews
Are you certain that's not a "feature" of Plex? Emby has a function called "Cinema mode", which does what you describe... play 1-2 "random" trailers prior to starting the main feature. It can be disabled (per client), but could easily be mistaken for being part of the v...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2021
The last 2 posters reference, had you carefully read the 1st post in this thread (Billycar11 works diligently to keep it current) , starting from encrypted FWs. This requires flashing w/ either Mike's command line tool, or the SDFtool Flasher, w/ the 'enc' option selected.

Re: Rename audio tracks?
The MKVToolNix header editor will let you rename track names w/out remuxing, but not all players will be able to read them. Dunno about Plex?

Re: Struggling to change slow speed reading.
Spec says 16x, but this is the real world & it can vary by disc. IF MakeMKV is having no issues reading the disc, speed will slowly ramp up to something approaching maximum. Cleaning a disc, even if it looks pristine to the naked eye, might help. @MartyMcNuts, or @Billycar11, et al, might be abl...

Re: Struggling to change slow speed reading.
Thanks Can I put different codes in for different types of discs? Or just leave the 0=99 for all discs Examples for different media types were all listed in the tutorial. IF you have issues w/ a certain media type, you can slow it down as an experiment. It's 'user's choice'. My example is just the ...

Re: Struggling to change slow speed reading.
"0=99" (copy/paste, without quotes)
Exported reg entry would look like this:
Code: Select all
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MakeMKV]
"speed_HL-DT-ST_BD-RE__WH16NS40_1.03_211711211653_XXXXXXXXXXX"="0=99"

Re: Struggling to change slow speed reading.
Hi Yes. Apparently there is speed control with the updated Make mkv software. My read speed is getting to 2.6x around 10mbs. Someone posted a way of changing the speed settings but I'm struggling as to what to enter. Thanks Example speed strings: "0=99" - Enable unlimited speed for all me...

Re: Sleep Bug Query - BW-16D1HT
The most straight forward fix is to simply open/close the tray before use when the drive has been idle > 2min. Otherwise, the Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2021 says: Sleep Bug Fix: To fix the sleep bug on a UHD Friendly drive flash firmware from an UHD Official drive like WH16NS60 DE 1...

As you are new, I'll ask. Have you submitted your dump? There can be many different keys. And other issues.

Re: Ripping tv series
It works but I need more studying. Like I have 3 episodes on 1 disk and I tried watching the disk and entering the start stop times but geesh. Like I said, someone needs to write an all in one program that rips, splits and MP4s them No chapters? More straight forward IMO. BTW All the tools have a c...
