Re: Can't rip (or even read) "The Hunger Games: Catching fire"
That doesn't make a whole lot of sense though. PowerDVD would absolutely not play that disc in an ASUS friendly drive. It requires an official drive. I know you said you didn't do anything other than opening PowerDVD, but, my opinion is that had nothing at all to do with it being able to read it and...

That's the latest and greatest. And yea, apparently the sleep bug is NOT actually fixed in MK 3.10. Ah well, at least it works well.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
It does have eARC so that's a definite maybe. You, of course, also need a receiver that can support it. But I don't know if their LG player supports doing so.

Because they're 6.1 and not every TV can handle that. Changing it to 5.1 makes it something almost every device can deal with.

Re: LibreDrive and Offline Systems
Yea that's probably about right. Yes,copy it to your .makemkv directory on the other machine and it'll have everything up to today. You'll need to repeat this process when new keys are released.

Re: Can't rip (or even read) "The Hunger Games: Catching fire"
There's different data on the discs. :) Which means the data is laid out differently. This isn't a binary thing "can read triple layer" or "can't read triple layer". As you've discovered, it's a spectrum where some drives like some discs and can't read others and other drives hav...

Re: Can't rip (or even read) "The Hunger Games: Catching fire"
Because they're stacking more data in the same physical space. Layer breaks were already problematic with double layer discs. Adding a third layer means more data but the disc isn't physically bigger so the laser has to read increasingly smaller changes.

See, the reality of my dual drive situation is one is dedicated to AnyDVD and one is dedicated to MakeMKV. So, I've no need to disable AnyDVD for that drive since it's already disabled for my NS60.

Re: LibreDrive and Offline Systems
Thanks SamuriHL. I found the link for the SDF file. The file has a modified date of 10/30/2018, so I don't know if that is the current version. Does MakeMKV download all the keys at once, or does it download only the key needed for the disc you rip? If it was all the keys at once, I was thinking I ...

Re: LibreDrive and Offline Systems
You can download the SDF manually (there's a link somewhere on the forum but it escapes me at the moment). However, that being said, it won't do you a lot of good with UHD. Unsure about blu-ray. But with UHD, you have to allow it to download the keys from the server so an offline MakeMKV installatio...

I don't ever encounter it on my ASUS drive with or without MK 3.10 because AnyDVD keeps the disc spinning regardless of what firmware is on it as a "fix" of sorts.

Re: Can't rip (or even read) "The Hunger Games: Catching fire"
It's DEFINITELY not a copy protection issue. It IS, however, a triple layer disc which are notoriously a pain in the ass to read for many drives. The ASUS drive, even with the improved MK 3.10 firmware, has issues reading certain triple layer discs. It really is a fantastic drive for most discs, but...
