Re: Possible New Bug - Naming of Folders
Thanks - actually I had replied to that post but it sounded like that person's issue was different. At the time I see Mike had NOT replied to the thread yet. Hopefully since Mike is going to work on it again we can get an "Enforced" name option of some sort... Folder name and title names a...

Re: Ice Age Collision Course
I've sent the dump file to svq@makemkv.com. This blu ray disc apparently phones home and requires a code before playing in a conventional blu ray player of PowerDVD This issue sounds like Street Lock Protection. It thinks you are trying to play the movie before street date. I realize you posted thi...

Re: Independence Day Resurgence - BD+ code processed but no
People trying to rip certain titles before street date might be facing street lock protection.
Today is only Wednesday - the movie officially came out Tuesday (yesterday) - stating the obvious like "still doesn't work" will not make it go faster.

Possible New Bug - Naming of Folders
Okay so a possible bug has been discovered, using release 1.10.2. So far I have just confirmed it with DVDs as I have not tried BDs. It seems "stuck" when naming the destination directory. I have tried switching semi-auto, auto, manual. I stuck in Duke of Hazzard Season 6, Disc 1. It wants...

Re: Can copying a disc harm the disc or the drive? Many not
The only times I have seen discs physically damaged by playback is when the drive itself cannot see or read the disc and the laser lens itself crashes into the disc, leaving a lovely circular scratch. Somewhat common on Xbox 360 and the original Playstation. Do other laser mechs even have the reach ...

Re: Titles out of sequence when ripping tv shows
This may be the same issue that happens on some BDs - MakeMKV lists the titles by the order the files appear in the directory, NOT sorted by their actual file names. But, since you don't see "file names" in the DVD display (just ID numbers) it would be rather hard to tell. It will be inte...

Titles out of sequence when ripping tv shows
I think this issue was introduced on the 2nd previous version of MakeMKV, perhaps 1.9.10 was good but 1.10.0 made the change. The issue is it now seeds titles out of sequence on dvd discs. When I ripped tv series dvds previously 3 (or 4) episodes per disc they would be ripped in order, title0 was ep...

I wish there were a "Auto-Forced" option.
Create a folder based on the disc name like it always does and instead of using title_00, title_01, etc it would force the disc name in place of the word title. The program is entirely random in when it chooses to do this.

Re: A DVD with 2.35:1 Aspect Ratio is ripping to 1:33
Most of the time you can load up MKVToolnix and choose the header editor, edit the displaywidth to 854 and then hit control-s to save the header change. I had the exact same issue with Independence Day dvd. If it still looks funny, you might have to look up the aspect ratio of the movie and do some ...

What codec pack is installed?
I have seen glitches with certain file headers and certain codec packs.
I use K-Lite for the Codec Pack and MPC-HC x64 as my primary player.
Don't want to install a codec pack? Have you tried MPC-HC Black Edition or Kodi?

V. 1.10.0 - Every Disc now has same error
Although this error does not affect ripping ability, every single dvd disc I insert at the end of recognizing the disc has been inserted gives the same error; "Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:READ OF SCRAMBLED SECTOR WITHOUT AUTHENTICATION' occurred while reading 'DVD+R-DL ASUS DRW-24B1ST c...

Re: 4K UHD BluRay Discs
Some people say they're working on cracking AACS v2. MakeMKV doesn't do that yet, and Mike hasn't said he's working on it or not. So the answer is currently "no". From the sounds of it, anyone that successfully cracks v2 and posts it for others to use will have Black helicopters arriving ...

Re: How to copy menu graphics? No full disc backup?
Some discs, such as the 1998 Godzilla will hide special features in the Menu, thus rendering them unrippable. I had posted that in a different thread. I tried to rip the music video but it wasn't a title. When I actually play the music video on the disc it indicates I am played "Dvd Menu" ...

Different calibration in the lasers due to factory specs, age, dirt, any number of factors. Same firmware in all of them? Personally am not a fan of LG drives due to too many failures, some of which sound similar to what you're seeing. There are people out there that say the same for Pioneer, ASUS, ...
