Re: External Blu-ray Drives via E-SATA not recognized
Just an update on this post. The wiebetech drive dock does not pass through proper communication between and optical drive and computer, via the eSATA connector on the Wiebetech Drive Dock, so firewire is the only thing on a drive dock that will work with connecting and internal blu-ray drive extern...

Re: Internal Blu ray drive work with Make MKV
Well, I thought anyone who is interested in whether a LG Blu-ray drive will work inside a Mac Pro 3Ghz tower, (built Oct 2006) I sent for the cables from OtherWorld Computing, to connect to the internal eSATA ports on the logic board. Long story short, IT WORKS! My blu-ray drive is now inside my Mac...

Re: Blu-ray Captain America will not mount
I just had the disk resurfaced, cleaned up any blemishes in the surface and now the disk mounts just fine. I'm ripping it right now and looks like it will finish with no problems.
Thanks for all who responded, it's appreciated.

Internal Blu ray drive Install & MKV
I have been using and internal Blu ray drive, (externally connected) via a Wiebetech Ultra Drive dock v4, connected to the firewire 800 drive port of my Mac. I now would like to put this drive inside my mac, but have a few reservations. First off, if I try to connect this drive through my Wiebetech ...

Blu-ray Captain America will not mount
My Blu-ray of Captain America will not mount. It cycles in the drive for about 2 minutes and then reports to Make MKV that there is no disk in the drive. Disk never mounts on desktop. This is the first Blu-ray disk that has failed to mount. [Disk will mount in regular set top player, (Samsung) conne...

Re: Rips fine, but doesn't play
The software I was referring to is, MKV Tools, NOT MKV Toolnix, (which is a completely different software. This is why in my first post, I said, "There is a software called MKV Tools, (not to be confused with another software called MKVtoolnix.")

Re: Rips fine, but doesn't play
This was the only link that I could find, that had a download for MKV Tools for the PC. This software was original intended for the Mac, but someone did a port to the PC, (not sure who) and this was the only site that I could find that had a download link, (several of them.) Did you try all of the t...

Re: Rips fine, but doesn't play
As I mentioned in my post, I'm a mac user, and am using the mac version of MKV Tools, so as to the which one to download, I can't be certain, but the top one, (says trusted) seems to be the one that has the most downloads and as what to do with it, weren't you looking for a way to split MKV files?

Re: Rips fine, but doesn't play
It all depends on how Boilsoft implemented use of codecs in there software. It may not be that you can just download a particular codec and use it. You most definitely need to email or call Boilsoft and see if there is a VC-1 support page, than would install the codec properly. It may all so be that...

Re: Rips fine, but doesn't play
You may not realize it, but MKV is what is known as a media container, which means that it can hold all kinds of different video codecs inside. What you may be seeing is the limitation of Boilsoft Video Splitter's codec's that are included with the software. You may want to contact Boilsoft support ...

Is the name extension .mkv or mka? Should look like, "name of video.mkv Sometimes when changing directories, the extension will be changed to .mka. If this happens, all you need to do is change it back to .mkv Also, is your copy of VLC up to date? VLC is currently at version, "2.0.1 Twoflo...
