Just submitted my dump for BB SB. I clearly love this movie so I can't wait to get this working.
Mine decrypts as of this morning. Thanks!

Sorry, I can't assist with your problem. One suggestion for faster support: you should try posting in the 'UHD Drives' section of the Forums, for better visibility. The drive exports are often quite active there. This section is specific to UHD discs. https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=...

Re: Adaptation 4K - Which file?

The content on a BD/UHD listed out by MakeMKV are either playlists, or individual m2ts files. The segment map in MakeMKV is the list of .m2ts files that make up the playlist. A playlist, does exactly what it sounds like, it is a list of files (m2ts) to play and in what order. If you were to make a d...

Re: Received copy of UHD disc, not working

First step is to: clean the disc with a damp lint free microfiber cloth and dry with another. Try to dump it again.

If that doesn't work, you'll need to either replace the disc, or replace the drive you use. The most recommended drives on the forums are: BU40N or UHD pioneer.

My BW-16D1HT is flaking. As suggest above, your best bet is to get a new drive. My BU40N is a tank.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

That's interesting. As a test, I extracted the raw RPU and reviewed it. I don't see any offset areas set in the Profile 5, untouched RPU. So, I wasn't sure. As another test, I didn't set an offset area and it looks like everything played fine on the Oppo. It seems to ignore the offset area. But it w...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Has anyone had to enter an active area offset for a film in which the aspect ratio changes scene to scene? I saw that there was some discussion about IMAX films earlier in the thread, but this wasn't covered. Is it possible? Tangentially related, if I am playing all my files back using TS files and ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

For Mode I, Workflow 1 can you use an MP4 to extract the base layer? The command line states (MKV/TS/M2TS) so I wasn't sure.

Re: DV Titles and MakeMKV 1.17.1

I have no idea if VLC can playback Vision files on the Nvidia Shield. Many other users report success with Plex, so you might need to give that a try. To answer your initial question, yes, MakeMKV can and does rip Dolby Vision and will properly store it in an MKV container. Playback on the other han...

Re: Decoding Track Information

That means it is a Dolby Vision [Profile 7] (dvhe.07.06) with an HDR10 Base Layer (BL), a full enhancement layer (FEL) and a reference picture unit (RPU). There are several different types of Dolby Vision profiles, but all you will find on discs is Profile 7. The rest are for streaming purposes, I b...

Hi @jayper

Use the latest version: dovi_tool.exe
The older version ("fix" in the filename) is only for some itunes webdl with invalid L6 metadata.
Cheers, thanks so much!

Hi Reset! First of all, thanks for all your time and effort maintaining these tools and educating the forum.

I still like to do some manual scripting and have been writing my own. Stupid question, if I am manually invoking the dovi_tool, which should I use?

dovi_tool.exe or dovi_tool.fix.exe?

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Yeah, seconding what MartyMcNuts said. Which, loops all the way back around to your initial question. You should rip the "one with chapters" ie the playlist (mpls). The situation was just as I suspected: The content on a BD/UHD listed out by MakeMKV are either playlists, or individual m2ts...
