Re: Star Trek Into Darkness UHD
1. Reminder that UHD disc related discussions go here: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=12&sid=503629d28695cb5e783ca5401828cf06 Hence why that subforum is titled/named “UHD discs”. You may find faster assistance there rather than the General subforum when posts are related to specif...

Re: Asus SBC-06D2X-U
You can simply buy an internal drive + an enclosure. That's all external drives are. An internal drive within an enclosure. Just that the manufacturer/distributor puts it in an enclosure for you.

Re: Asus SBC-06D2X-U
Don't bother. Not supported. Buy one from the list as discussed here:
https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 16&t=16832
And save yourself the trouble and headache.
Excluding the ASUS BW-16D1HT-PRO on the list as that has been a known hit and miss.

Re: UHD drives
I'm looking to get an "official" UHD drive. I can get an LG BU40N drive here from Amazon UK, and an enclosure to put it in. Or I can buy a BU50N from the US and have it shipped over. Is there any reason (functionality of MakeMKV-wise) to get the BU50N over the BU40N? I haven't been able t...

Re: UHD drives
Thanks! I've just ordered a LG BH16NS55. So if for some reason it has a bad version of the firmware.. how easy is it to flash it back to 1.02? You have several options. READ this post and the links provided: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=18346&start=30 AND THIS: https:/...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55
Mine is ASUS BW-16D1HT Firmware 1.0.1 BH16NS60/50 Flash Chip I have dump the flash Anything I should do ? Upgrade to 3.0.1 ? Thanks for any comment Simple. Buy a new UHD Friendly drive. That drive is too old. Asus 1.0 firmware drives predate UHD compatability by several years. If you attempt an upd...

Re: UHD drives
Ok, yes, I concede that the WH14NS40 was not on the original list. However, I also note the date requirement now on EVERY drive. An apparently critical detail. So, this date is a requirement on ALL of these drives now? Also, I do not see the BE16NU50, BW-12D2HT (and PRO), nor the WH126NS58 in this ...

Re: Bourne Supremacy UHD can't be decrypted
When you insert a disc and attempt to read it with MakeMKV it will call out to the online database Mike has created. If the key exists it will download it and allow decryption. If not, you’ll get the error discussed here. So, make sure you allow the app to connect to the internet if you have a firew...

Additionally this:

Will provide additional information and direction from Mike (owner/developer of MakeMKV) on where it all stands for support on Official UHD drives. It’s suggested you read the full thread.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
So making a disc backup with MakeMKV--choosing to decrypt the contents retains the DV layer? EDIT: reason I ask is I made backups of my discs without decrypting. Now I'm wondering if there was any point to that at all... The decrypted full structure backups keep DV. Keeps everything . Decryption of...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
(Well, maybe the Oppo can, but that's probably the only thing, other than PowerDVD) Oppos 203/205 will require the disc to be decrypted so that it can be played via network/NAS or through the USB ports (using a external SSD/HDD or USB flash drive for example) when using the full folder structure fo...

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives
Hello All, Based on this forum thread I have ordered an LG WH16NS60 that should arrive in a few days. I assume it will have the most recent firmware installed. Can anyone steer me in the right direction for a firmware change? Am I correct in assuming that with earlier firmware this might become a &...
