Re: Allegiant
I once wrote a script (might be somewhere here) that would have makemkv enumerate all the playlists and then sort them in segment order. one could then easily do a search to see which segments make sense following the previous one. As they are sorted, when one hits one that doesn't make sense, one c...

Re: Title XXXX.mpls is equal to title XXXX.mpls and was skipped
use mkvtoolnix (after decryption). I've brought this up a number of times that I think MakeMKV sometimes tries to be too smart, but it hasn't changed.

Re: Region locked BD's fail on VLC (libmmbd)
vlc lets you choose the region. change it. there's no such thing as a region free bluray player that can play discs without user intervention. It's an impossibility, the only option is to choose the right region for each disc.

Re: Wrong Sorting order?
sorting order says nothing. you have a play all playlist (29GB), just look at the 3 pieces that are probably listed in it and associate them to the piece listed for the other 3.

Re: Are some DVDs just manufactured to be unrippable?
I've ripped the us studio 60 on the sunset strip in the past, so i know for a fact that it was rippable about a decade ago.

Re: Question about decryption
makemkv isn't a perfect tool if your goal is to make "playable" backups (i.e. menus and all). it doesn't do anything to remove region coding (easy enough to do manually if not in java) or any java manipulations to fix java based protections. It's really just designed to take a dvd/bluray a...

Re: Larger than the dvd
imagine it's terminator 2 which I think had 3 versions of the movie on on 1 disc, using DVD's version of seamless branching.
so, if you would rip every version it would end up somewhere around 3x the size you expect from a single verison as most of the content would be duplicated 3x.

makemkv isn't the tool for you. you want to reauthor the disc.

Re: Blu-ray ISO file to MKV file
if the ISO still has copy protection (and not bus encrypted) and someone else in the world with an internet connection has decrypted the disc before with anydvd, anydvd will be able to decrypt the iso if mounted. you can then take its output and use with makemkv

Re: Weird extra audio track on Source Code [2011]
honestly, that makes perfect sense. I don't see how the bluray player could mix it it and bitstream. "at best" it could mix 2 pcm tracks together, but that's not really bitstreaming anymore. it also shouldn't make a difference if the player is able to decode the dts-hd or truehd track and ...

what the original responder said, snap is the wrong tool for the job you are trying to do.
might as well use a ppa if you dont want to build it yourself

Re: Indian Summers S02 - Obfuscation
many recent PBS releases are like this. But in fact, they really aren't java disc, the java code can be totally removed and the discs will play back perfectly (menus and all) if setup correctly. i.e. all the java code does is set 3 register variables to the the correct playlist and then the non java...

Re: Making a 1:1 backup of a protected disc
if you want to make an imgae with other software besides makemkv, you have to start a protected backup with makemkv so it creates the smal metadata file that you alreay know of, you can then abort it, and proceed with your other tool to make the iso. you would then extract the iso contents into the ...
