DVD Troubles

Post by angelgraves13 »

So I've noticed that MakeMKV has been making my DVD rips as "variable frame rate" instead of constant, and with an unmatching frame rate. Should I worry that it was copied incorrectly?

What did you use to generate the report?

There are several tools that declare the standard rates "variable" because they do not give exact inter-frame times. The "jitter" is considered "variable frame rate", even though it is impossible for them to always be truly constant.

MPC BE Nightly is reporting more and more files as variable, but it seems it's just the bundled version of mediainfo.

MediaInfo is one of the programs that I've read reports of "variable" when the rate is actually "fixed".
