MakeMKV already notifies the user that a new version is available. I think it would be really useful for everyone (especially the author of MakeMKV!) if the new version notification text would also provide a link to known bugs for the currently installed version, as the bugs become known. Really bad bugs (like the ones in 1.12.3) could even be displayed in the MakeMKV status window every time the software starts up, such as "This version is known to have problems ripping many BluRay titles" or something (and then provide the user with a link to download older versions).
I would think this one small change would ultimately save the software coder (and forum users) magnitudes more time and effort than it would take to set it up.
More generally, there are certain issues that come up in this forum that are so critical that they warrant mandatory reading not just by all forum visitors, but by all people who use the software. When the software is already pinging the server to see if there are new versions, it wouldn't be that much more data transferred to just send a few bytes of text along with it to display in the status window.
