VirusTotal reports Sangfor Engine Zero for v1.15.3?

Post by Dougmeister »

This is just a false positive, right?

Can you please make me feel better about it?

My copy of 1.15.3 didn't trip AVG.

As always, with Virustotal results, submit the executable to your trusted AV vendor's review portal. Most of them have a URL you can upload to for a specific validation.

Really? Hmm. Didn't know that. Thanks.

Can you recommend any "trusted AV vendor review portals" that you use?

That depends on who you trust. I use AVG (now owned by Avast), but some people don't trust Avast, and will only use/trust [insert popular AV program here].

In the case of AVG, it's part of the user interface; you can scan a file, and then have it submitted to AVG for further testing.

Even in the case of the virustotal.com website, you can do a "submit file" or "submit URL", and you will get different results.
