Bypass errors

Post by Davenlr »

I have one disc (Lost in Space Season 1 Disc 5 file T01 with Encountered 16 errors of type 'HashCheck Error'
There are no scratches on the disc, but the reviews said there were many complaints of disc errors in pressing.
Since this is the only file in the 3 season set I cannot rip to my server, is there any way to force MakeMKV into bypassing the corrupted sectors on the disc and continue ripping rather than just failing? I realize this would result in dropped frames or segments from the file, but 44 out of 45 minutes would be preferable to 0 minutes.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

"There are no scratches on the disk" means nothing - anything that interferes with reading the bits is a problem. Fingerprints, for example, or even minor smudges. That's why "clean the disk" is a standard response here.

MakeMKV does not have a "bypass mode". It tries to get 100% of the data.

Thanks. The latest release was actually able to read all 3 of the bad discs I had been unable to rip using the previous release. Great job MakeMKV.
