Post by regurge »

after the installtion of the latest version i tried to start the programm but i received a windows fault message:

No, it should just work without any additional software or drivers. And it should work on XP.

I have a Wacom Bamboo A6, and I can confirm this problem.

When the memory resident tablet software is running MakeMKV crashes on startup. Closing the Pen_Tablet.exe process solves the problem.

This is with MakeMKV version 1.46 on Windows XP SP3, and Wacom drivers version 5.11-1 RC.

Thanks for this solution! I have the same problem. I have to close my wacom software before i can run MakeMKV. Otherwise it crashes at startup.

Thanks for reporting. Is this software publically available? Where can we get a copy to reproduce the problem and do we really need a tablet for this? Also, what happens if you run "makemkvcon info disc:0" from a command line - does it crash?

Hi Mike!

You can download the software at:
http://www.wacom.eu/index2.asp?pid=29&l ... uct=MTE450

I'm not sure it can be installed without a Tablet present, but I think so.

Running the command line gives me:

Code: Select all

001014:000000:0000 MakeMKV v1.4.6 beta win(x86-release) started
Current action: Scanning CD-ROM devices
Current progress - 0% , Total progress - 0%
Current progress - 0% , Total progress - 0%
Current progress - 100% , Total progress - 0%
Current progress - 100% , Total progress - 100%
Current progress - 0% , Total progress - 100%
Current progress - 0% , Total progress - 0%
005010:000000:0000 Failed to open disc
Total 0 titles
I didn't have any disc in the drive - but it didn't crash like the GUI does.

This problem still exists with MakeMKV 1.47 and the new Wacom 5.20-6a drivers. Are you devs able to reproduce it?

Please try attached version and post the result here. In order to try it:
  • * locate MakeMKV installation directory
    * rename makemkv.exe to makemkv.old
    * extract makemkv.exe from attached archive and put into installation directory
    * launch MakeMKV and see if it works

Thanks Mike!
