problem with the Lego movie bluray

Post by BigMat »

Hi,
Once ripped the lego movie (3D) bluray takes 30GB on my disk.
When I open the ISO in makeMKV, it recognizes a movie of only 1.7 GB.
the video tack is shown as "Mpeg4", While 3D bluray normally show something like 3DAVC or wathever but not MPEG4

has anyone tried to make an MKV of this movie. Was it successfully with the correct file size?

Thx

What happens when you use MakeMKV to rip the disk directly?

There is no need to go through a separate step of ripping to an ISO and then ripping that ISO with MakeMKV, and you eliminate problems that could be caused by something outside of MakeMKV's control.... Like what some other ripping software does to the file.

Hi,
thanks for your reply.

Using the blu-ray directly in makeMKV has the same result.

When I browsed the ISO/bluray, I found that most of the disk space was taken by a single file:
..\BDMV\STREAM\SSIF\00042.ssif
this one is 34GB

I never actually had to do anything with ssif files before.
So I tried a few software and TSMuxeR was able to open it. I created a new M2TS that had the correct size.

Maybe it's a limitation of makeMKV, maybe I should have changed some settings.

Anyway, it's all good now. I hope this will help other users in the future.

Follow the instructions in the FAQ linked in my signature to turn on "Debug logging". Post the results in a reply here, so we can see what is going on.

There are two ways to rip a BD using MakeMKV. One is to "make a backup", which rips things as they appear on the BD. The other is to "open" the disk, at which time you will be given a list of titles found on the disk. This saves the titles as MKV files, rather than as a disk backup.

I know this is 6 years old but the problem still exists with both Lego and Lego Batman movies. When you rip the 3D disc it rips as 2D AVC and not3D MVC even though you select the MVC codec. MPC properties says it's MVC when playing the properties also show as AVC. The only solution I've found is to use my other ripper to rip it to Blu-Ray folders.

I have the main title of The Lego Movie 3d disc ripped to MKV and it plays just fine in 3D for me on my Zidoo X9s....

I used MakeMKV to backup both my LEGO Movie 3D and LEGO Batman Movie 3D and have no issues with the 3D.

It looks like 15.2 is the issues.
