Go to the ripper module, choose the Dolby Vision tv preset. Then in settings choose single layer. I think you need te newest version of DVDFab 11.0.6.6

Choose to convert audio to one of the options in the Dolby Vision rip settings and live with it, or if DTS-HD choose no audio and mux that in separately (not advised for noobs).

My files wont play on MXPlayer / 2019 Shield after muxing DTS with mp4box - does it work for anyone?

I don’t use MX player, I find it ropey, use Plex or MrMC.

Can we get a summary of all the discoveries on the original post?
I appreciate all the back and forth on this topic, but if one were new to this thread, there is a lot of reading and some information that might not work. If the original post were updated this would be FANTASTIC!

I don’t know? I believe it always worked on the Firestick before The Shield pro 2019 came out, just checked it, it works.

Works on the firestick or shield? If its the shield, are you sure its not HDR10

Works on the shield, my LG C9 says Dolby Vision not HDR...
The guide that most people use is from the MrMC forum, why do you find it hard to believe that it works on MrMC? As far as I understand it has worked on MrMC for over a year (on the fire stick 4K) obviously the shield 2019 has only been out for 3 months.

I've just tried that but nothing happens. It starts to write to my HDD, creates the file movie.mp4, after ~15 mins the cmd prompt closes and the output file movie.mp4 is 0 bytes in size...

oh oops, thx for pointing this out, I edited my original post. put this in startmux.cmd instead:

ren *.hevc baselayer.hevc
ren 0*.hevc dvlayer.hevc
ren *.ac3 audio.ac3
mp4muxer_64bits.exe --dv-profile 7 --input-file baselayer.hevc --input-file dvlayer.hevc --input-file audio.eac3 --media-lang eng --output-file movie.mp4
I have exactly the same problem. Still 0 kB. If i close CMD after while it will have a size 1 kB. I really dont know what im doing wrong. Can you help me please? Im trying that on Windows 10. Thank You!
Same problem :(

mp4muxer_64bits.exe --dv-profile 7 --input-file baselayer.hevc --input-file dvlayer.hevc --input-file audio.eac3 --media-lang eng --output-file movie.mp4
for ac3 audio the file need to be .ac3 extension

Code: Select all

mp4muxer_64bits.exe --dv-profile 7 --input-file baselayer.hevc --input-file dvlayer.hevc --input-file audio.ac3 --media-lang eng --output-file movie.mp4
for eac3 audio the file need to be .ec3 extension

Code: Select all

mp4muxer_64bits.exe --dv-profile 7 --input-file baselayer.hevc --input-file dvlayer.hevc --input-file audio.ec3 --media-lang eng --output-file movie.mp4

Just a recap since I haven't actively followed the thread.

- If I want DV + Atmos I need to use yusesope's server and apk which mandates a device that you can install apk like a Shield?
- Does the app work with dual layer DV?
- I also have a FireTV 4K stick. That doesn't do lossless audio so what's the use case for this? OLED TVs already playback these mp4s.
- MPC-BE with LAV filters bitstreams Atmos TrueHD, but HTPC doesn't do DV over HDMI to receiver, correct?

I am fully comfortable with the muxing and converting process, my main question remains what is a method to run DV with TrueHD Atmos? I still have my C8 and X700, no Shield.
