Has anyone had any luck with the Shining? The first MP4 created with mp4muxer with the 2 video streams works great on my Oppo, but after sending it through mp4box, either with or without an audio stream, it immediately locks up on the Warner bros shield. I'm using the one from the SDK pack, and also tried compiling the latest from the filters branch with same result.

I also noticed a couple lines of output when running mp4box I wasn't sure was normal or not:

Hi Smanet, i also played last time a bit with the tools ffmpeg, mp4muxer and mp4box. In the end I muxed a movie with DV and several (original) DTS-HD tracks in it and it works perfectly fine with my C8 (directly played). Look here:

I noticed you are using AC3 audio, which I am able to mux without problem with mp4muxer. Did you use mp4box at all though for lossless audio?

I noticed you are using AC3 audio, which I am able to mux without problem with mp4muxer. Did you use mp4box at all though for lossless audio?

Can't the 203 play directly from the BDMV folder thus avoid having the trouble of remuxing?

Hi Smanet, i also played last time a bit with the tools ffmpeg, mp4muxer and mp4box. In the end I muxed a movie with DV and several (original) DTS-HD tracks in it and it works perfectly fine with my C8 (directly played). Look here:

Hi SoNNiBoi, I didn't know that the TV could play DV using the two separated video tracks, however the audio will not be transferred to the a/v receiver in this scenario as the TV doesn't have eARC support. Am I correct about this?

I noticed you are using AC3 audio, which I am able to mux without problem with mp4muxer. Did you use mp4box at all though for lossless audio?

Edit: It seems its just a problem with the Oppo 203 player. I tried both through network share and USB and get the immediate lockup, but playing directly on my LG OLED via USB and it works fine. Hmm..
Can't the 203 play directly from the BDMV folder thus avoid having the trouble of remuxing?

ok, let's see. was the mono pcm demuxed with ffmpeg? in my limited experience, I found mp4box works better with media streams demuxed with ffmpeg, even better if all demuxed from the same source. I seem to have experienced similar end result when the audio track was not "marked" by ffmpeg, mp4box would report something "unusual" and the mp4 did not play.

alternatively, but this is only my brainstorming without first hand experience, would it be possible to mux the mono pcm into the main movie m2ts file with tsMuxer?

There is no demuxing for laserdiscs since there is no real file structure, you have to capture the stream in real time. I was using tsmuxer before to export the video channels, so I'm trying out ffmpeg now to see if it makes any difference.

I thought about trying to make a new .m2ts with tsmuxer but unfortunately I'd have to resample the audio to 48kHz for it to accept it (LD is natively 44.1kHz). I did notice though that tsmuxer is open source now (yay!) so I might try to see if I can get around that restriction :)

Edit: It seems the point is moot since m2ts created by tsmuxer won't trigger Dolby Vision.

It's OK, its working fine for me streaming to the TV's Video app via DLNA so I'm happy enough with it (the TV outputs to amp so sound is fine). Thanks for the help anyways!

I am working on a Windows GUI app btw to simplify the remuxing process, will share when its ready
