Tip for New Star Wars UHDs

Post by mbelanger »

Here's a handy tip if you're ripping the new individual Star Wars UHDs. The last of the four similarly sized titles is the one that has the opening crawl in English. Alternately, you can do like I did with ANH and ESB and rip them in order, deleting and then reripping the next one until you get to the fourth, when four hours later, you'll have the rip you want.

I haven't picked up any of the others yet, but strongly suspect they will be similar.

"Last of the four"? Usually it's the first one (00800) that is English.

This is also mentioned in the MakeMKV FAQ and the UHD FAQ.

I’m sorry you had to go through that! Now you know for next time!

I would use the backup disc function (decrypted) and then either play the first .mpls file listed for each title to work out which one I want or just rip the 4 titles from the backup and delete the ones I don't want.

That way you're only ripping the data from the optical media once and it's then much quicker to read off your SSD/HDD.
