The Wicker Man 4k - dump submitted

Post by evbuk »

I sent a dump for this disk to svq@makemkv.com after a volume key unknown error when trying to rip the disk.

Just out of interest, is that the 1973 version (with Edward Woodward) or the 2006 version (with Nicolas Cage)?

And what cuts of the movie are included (there are four cuts of the 1973 version that I know of, and two of the 2006 version)?

Sorry to ask but there aren't any UltraHD versions isn't listed on DVDCompare yet.

blu-ray.com lists a 4K for The Wicker Man (1973), but it supposedly comes out on October 17.

This is probably the 1973 version. The UK steelbook and collector's edition that released recently includes the final cut, director's cut, and theatrical edition. I think the US steelbook that's releasing in October only includes the final cut, but could be wrong.

On the topic of the disc dump, I submitted a dump from my UK set for disc 1 (final cut), dumpfile ending in 3559. Disc 2 opened without issue.

Yes, it's the 1973 film. Disc 1 in the UK Steelbook release is the disk that I sent the dump for, as the volume key is not recognised.

The release includes cuts called The Final Cut, the Director's Cut and the Theatrical version.

Any update on the 4K disc? Still unable today. Happy to submit a dump if it's necessary? Sounds like others have submitted already. I know it takes a while to get them in sometimes, though.

Just adding that I have the 2 Disc Studio Canal 4K release and can't decrypt the 2nd disc which has the Theatrical Cut on it (haven't tried Disc 1 as I'm not interested in the Final Cut).

Hopefully you emailed your dump file to svq@makemkv.com.

Still not having any luck on disc 1 from the UK release. I sent it in on 10/6 after sending in a different dump and that disc decrypts after the latest HK update.
