Most likely, you've recently inserted a disk with v66 of AACS protection on it, and your drive will no longer listen to MakeMKV.

You may find a file in your MakeMKV directory with a name that starts with "MKB_v66". If so, please send it to support@makemkv.com for analysis.

If this is what happened, you will be able to rip DVDs, but BDs will not work until Mike releases a new version of MakeMKV that has a new application key.

That is NOT an compatible drive to backup/rip UHD BDs. You need to read this:

If more information is needed searching the forum and Google will also yield hundreds of more posts/discussions on this subject as well.

What you need to do

Post by jonghotti » Wed Nov 07, 2018 9:06 pm

Is email me alexcoluzzi32@gmail.com for a drive that’s guaranteed to be compatible with MakeMKV

Do This though only after purchasing a license key for MakeMKV and prove to me you’ve done that and I’ll make a smoking deal on a drive.

Thanks,

Alex
