New to UHD Bluerays and ripping

Post by melfie »

Hello!
I am new to Bluerays in general and ripping. I am planning on ripping UHD drives. I am searching for guidance on what drives to get. I looked into it and I found only drives which require a Intel CPU I got an AMD CPU. Also often times the drives I found were not available in Germany.

Can you guys point me to some useful resources for choosing a drive.

Cheers!

Limitations on CPU are imposed by the companies selling the drives to match licenses. I can rip 4K disks with my AMD processor just fine. Others rip using Mac processors, and even some people using ARM processors. Playing them with "official" software imposes limits on your CPU and monitor; using unofficial software lets you play them with unofficial hardware.
