@mfraz74,

I don't think it will work that way.

Just create and boot from a windows10PE usb stick and it will take all of 30 seconds to flash the drive.
Cheers :D

Tried following the instructions here http://www.webupd8.org/2013/07/how-to-c ... o.html?m=1 and adding the required .exe and .bin files but it won't work. I presume I need to add .net somehow?

Is anyone able to create the required .iso with WinPE, the Asus FW changer and ASUS-BW-16D1HT-3.03-WM00000-211801191558.bin file on it and upload it to WeTransfer or somewhere?

WARNING: DO NOT upgrade the drive to the new 3.10 firmware that ASUS just released. Doing so will (for now) remove the ability to downgrade and remove LibreDrive compatibility. Until Mike has a chance to patch that firmware, but, there's ZERO benefit in upgrading to it anyway. Stick with the MK 3.03 or DE 3.02 and you'll be good to go.
Just FYI - the MK firmware based on 3.10 is available and seems to be superior to 3.03/3.02 . If you flashed the official 3.10 by mistake, the downgrade patch is still available (official 3.10 won't allow downgrade, even to DE firmware) :
3.10 can be flashed to 3.10MK
3.10 MK can be flashed with any DE firmware.

Someone kindly sent me a Win10PE iso, but when I try to run ASUS_ODD_FW_Changer, I get "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000135),

Looks like Microsoft.NET wasn't added as the 2.0.5727 directory is empty.

Hey Guys,
I am having similar trouble as the OP, same drive, same firmware. I first tried flashing with the new MK 3.03 firmware. MakeMKV still says
MakeMKV v1.14.3 win(x64-release) started
Using direct disc access mode
Saved SD dump file as C:\Users\School/.MakeMKV/dump_SD_BEBB0710929BC4F2D5A3.tgz
Downloading latest SDF to C:\Users\School/.MakeMKV ...
Automatic SDF downloading is disabled or failed.
Downloading latest HK to C:\Users\School/.MakeMKV ...
Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed.
Saved AACS dump file as C:\Users\School/.MakeMKV/MKB20_v61_Fantastic_Beasts_and_Where_to_Find_Them_8C29.tgz
LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted.
Failed to open disc

I also tried to downgrade to 3.02 DE as suggested by the forums.
Same result. Any ideas?

Thanks
You need to make sure that "Allow contacting web server for updates" is enabled (ticked) in Preferences (General tab).
Never made the connection to the failed downloading, i had a kids web filter running, once i disabled all was well. do you all recommend going up to 3.10 now that its been released?

And that you have no firewall rules blocking it. We've seen both issues lately.
thanks, it was a kids web filter that was getting in the way. You guys rock!

I absolutely recommend the MK 3.10 firmware for that drive. Has been the most stable firmware I've seen on it yet.

I am getting the same error on 3.10MK and 3.02 using the ASUS drive. The error says

Using direct disc access mode
Downloading latest SDF to C:\Users\Brian/.MakeMKV ...
Automatic SDF downloading is disabled or failed.
DEBUG: Code 88 at 3n|Kn0<$@PHq+zen:121274009
Downloading latest HK to C:\Users\Brian/.MakeMKV ...
DEBUG: Code 0 at 3n|Kn0<$@PHq+zen:29399473
Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed.

LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted.
DEBUG: Code 0 at jFJ/sedl|n^h9"'$:29396115
DEBUG: Code 0 at jFJ/sedl|n^h9"'$:213134262
Failed to open disc

I do not understand how to make sure that the firewall is not blocking the connection. I turned the Windows 10 firewall off completely and get the same error.

Something on your system is blocking the download or you have the option to connect online disabled in the makemkv settings.
