BD-RE Correct firmware

Post by salterjohn »

Like a number of others here I have a USB Buffalo drive BD-RE, but I am little confused as to the correct firmware to use for this? BU40n or BP50-60, or something else?

Can anyone point me in the direction of the correct binary? Also is the patched ASUS flash tool suitable for this job?

Thanks Jonghotti,

That was more straightforward than I thought!
In the MK pack there are five BU40's that all seem to be regional variants: (tribute band that sing 'Red Red Wine' in different accents)
BU40N-B-Japan-Buffalo
BU40N-FR (France I assume)
BU40N-N
BU40N-R-Taiwan
BU40N-U

I can discount Japan, France and Taiwan as I'm in the UK, so assume I'm after either BU40N-N or BU40N-U?

Is it safe to flash this with the patched ASUS tool?

Any advice gratefully received.

Many thanks

BU40N-N
It was just discovered that "N" is the ultimate one - viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22673
Still no info on what is "FR" variant...
