Drive Speed-Recommended, model, safe, works for me

Post by nicholfd »

Hello all,

Can someone post in this tread, or maybe a sticky thread safe/recommended/works for me, speed settings. I'm thinking something like:
Model, firmware version, safe/recommended/works for me.
BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N, 1.04d (MK patched BU40N-1.04-NM00500-212005061142), What's safe?/Whats recommended?/What works for you?

Thanks,
Frank

i recommend 1.03mk for the BU40N because it will work with all fw and you dont need to worry if its encrypted or not
for bu40n i use no speed control its usually not needed.

My desktop drives are all flashed to ns60 1.00 firmware. Two are actual ns60 drives. One is a bw16d1ht. Anything below a triple layer uhd I can set to unlimited speed. For u3 I typically have to either disable speed control or set it to 2x on those drives. As billy said, bu40n I leave speed control off completely. Mine is on firmware 1.00 and it's my best drive by far.
