The firmware on your drive is not the problem. Try posting the MakeMKV logs for those discs so we can assist you further.
Cheers :D

Am I providing the logs you're referring to? MakeMKV does not appear to be part of the equation. The drive does not load the disc at all. You'll hear it trying to load the disc but at some point gives up. Any other disc in my collection loads without hesitation.

if thats the case then the only solution is
cleaning the disc.
replacing the disc.
cleaning the laser very easy on a bu40n.
replacing the drive i would recommend the pioneers now no point getting a lg/asus for UHD as long as pioneers are available with old fw.
i know it sounds like a shill move but they really are way more reliable and dont do weird things that make you have to reboot them.
for the most part pioneers with old fw are only available from sellers.

Trust Billy on this. I have a bu40n but pretty much only use my pioneer drives now. They are far more reliable.

You know the xs07s is not a UHD drive right?
Do you have an xs07s or xs07uhd?
Likely either won't work out of the box

I can return it and get XS07UHD. Thought it would be the same just a different color. Would it be worth buying though?

An xs07s UHD is not going to work either if it's built after 12/22.
I have pioneers with old fw getting 24 in today and another 18 on Friday.
Email me see below

Yes the pioneers are worth it.

But just to make sure is your xs07s fw after 12/22?
Because if it's before that it can be flashed

MFD. June 2022

I'm confused now. Is the xs07s flashable or should I still get myself the xs07uhd? One that's MFD before 12/22.

What would the drive be crossed flashed to? Wouldn't that brick the drive?

Appreciate the help.

My job is paying for the drive. Got the UHD version and it has a MFD of Feb 2023. I thought all was lost until I tried ripping and it works. Maybe firmware 1.02 is ok for now. Did some reading and it looks like 1.02 is a bit of a pain some times. Already experienced it, had to reload the disc.
