PLease hav epatience with me as I am new to this but plan on installing Zidoo and archiving my disc collection.
I ordered a WH14NS40 and plan to flash the firmware. (have downloaded the proper firmwares and GUI program). My concern lies with the following- I understand that certain enclosues are resistant to being able to flash the firmware. MY plan was to open the side panel of my pc and directly connect the drive with a sata power cord and cable and flash the drive. After it has been flashed can I then put it in whatever enclosure I want?

FWIW I Was planning on purchasing this enclosure
https://www.amazon.com/Vantec-NST-536S3 ... 0b6bc&th=1

Yes, you can do it that way or just flash it in the enclosure as the Vantec's work fine for flashing.

Thank you. If the Vantec's work fine then I'll probably just do it that way instead of having to open my pc and hook it up as I have a hyte Y60 and with the proper cble management that thing is a pia to to open.
