Same java crashes and difference between Linux and Windows versions

Hi,

I have been experiencing the java crashes like everyone else in other threads - v1.12.3 seems to crash more frequently than 1.12.2 was though. I just upgraded to java 10 (oracle version) and the crashes have stopped, but before I upgraded, I fired up a windows virtual machine and java 8 does not crash in the Windows version.

This led me to an obversation - the same disc in Windows not only did not crash, but it actually filtered through the playlist obfucscation, where the linux version did not (just returned the track list). I then loaded java10 in windows and it still correcftly identified the main feature.

This is just an obversation, but it really baffles me. Is there something I am missing?

I am currently running Fedora 27 with selinux disabled. Kernel options:

[greg@yoga ~]$ ssh be0 -- cat /proc/cmdline
BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-4.17.12-100.fc27.x86_64 root=LABEL=ROOT ro rd.driver.blacklist=nouveau modprobe.blacklist=nouveau slab_common.usercopy_fallback=Y nopti LANG=en_US.UTF-8
